what the F*** ya know 'bout RAVIOLI DELICIOUS.
what the F*** ya know 'bout RAVIOLI DELICIOUS.
So what's the good word on these latest edible delicacies from the old world
You gots your Pizza Hut, Domino's, Little Caesar's, even California Pizza Kitchen and Papa John's. And you notice Pizza Hut's slices never stick together, it's because they use nonstick pieces. And these pieces slide right through your intestine like Splash Mountain with the Song of the South playing by way of the cheese-full crust.
Instead I got a pizza from a local folks, like mom used to make, except without the cornmeal on the bottom.
For 14" you can get a $15 "large" Roma Deluxe (they're called Roma's Pizza and their site is www.romaspizzakzoo.com, btw they stop taking delivery orders at 11:45 and also they say they need between 3/4 and an hour to go) with stuff on it. Me, being the hard bargainer, tried to bring a compromise: Gimme dat Roma (a "specialty pizza" for a lower price) except with two different toppings. They asked for the full price but strangely the guy in the car gave me back a quarter instead of a dime and I felt bad, temporarily.
The pizza has the following items:
Pineapple
Green Peppers
Ground Beef
Onions, Fresh Mushrooms, Pepperoni, Ham
You can get spinach but not anchovies.
This pizza is half gone.
Oh yeah, let's explain the topic...sauce

I got a pizza the other night, extra mushrooms and extra pepperoni. The grease from the pepperoni soaked through the pizza and made the bottom of the box damp. It was amazing.
Feedback will set you free.

I like Pizza Hut like hell, but in Mt. Pocono [in PA], on 940, there's this awesome place, Brother Bruno's, a little local shop with the best fucking Sicilian slices EVER. Hell, they have some of the best pizza for miles.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Yeah and they make a not-bad frozen pizza if you cook it patiently (my rule is 15% less temp for 20% more time than suggested. Most frozen foods are better that way unless prone to drying out.)Damocles wrote:I like the pizza at Uno's. Mainly for the crust.
But Ed is within spitting distance of Chicago and should try for better.
On the subject of cheap, I'm partial to thin-crust Caesar's with few toppings.
I moved recently and haven't found a good local place yet. Back in my previous city there were plenty of small-time pizza joints with great stuff, here I make do with the delivery chains. (I'm not opposed to them, but I'll admit much better stuff is out there.)
Goddamit this topic is making me want pizza.

A slice of that heavenly pizza from the Costco snack bar will only set you back at $1.75. Those Sinai 48 produced Kosher Hot Dogs and Polish Sausage on a Toscana bun + a refillable soda for a buck fifty...can't beat that cool foodie deal any ol' day at the Costco snack bar. Costco has been selling their hot dogs and polish sausage on a bun with a soda since the early 1990s...still at the same price indeed. They also sell their same pizzas that you can buy at the snack bar inside the refrigerated case section...just need to take it home and bake it yourself. Easy as pie. ^_~Skyline wrote:The best pizza I've had in a long time was from Costco's snack bar.
Yeah, I miss those Sbarro's slices of pizza...there used to be a Sbarro's joint at my local mall but it closed down for good. Straw Hat Pizza and Round Table Pizza franchises are popular around in the Golden State of California area. For the DIY pizza crowd, there's Papa Murphy's style of pizzas that you bake at home to cut down on costs.
A really good plain cheese endowed slice of pizza what I like myself. The more piled on high melted cheese, all the better. All this mentioning of pizza just makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Yeah, that's it, I'll go have some pizza right now. Quite pretty tasty, y'know. ^_~
I even had some pizza in Japan...quite an interesting edible experience eating one in the Land of the Rising Sun. If you go to a Japanese Pizza Hut, you can order what's known as the "Idaho Special" loaded with all sorts of toppings piled on high. Ain't your typical American Pizza Hut slice of "za" either.
Thanks for the delicious pizza thread, Ed.
