3 new shmups on one day, wow!
but this looks like crap in all honesty. I feel no urge whatsoever to play this. Nevertheless thanks for updating us. :)

I like arena shmups and I'm not sure how I feel about this.

It's nice that they are releasing another one, but nothing in that trailer makes me think its any better than any other game. It could be Mutant Storm with prettier graphics.

Square Enix is developing this? Not Taito?
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Well, Square Enix seems to be publishing it.

Though it would seem odd if Taito was developing it and not publishing it.

Is that inertia based movement?

Not sure.

The CUBE game actually looks a bit more interesting to me, mostly because it's hard to know exactly what's going on.

Wonder if that's the actual music, too.

christ this game looks pretty awful. the postprocessing effects, grey colors and horrible framerate are - unfortunately - to be expected in this generation of gaming, although I wouldn't expect them from a shmup. at this point I wouldn't be surprised if the game also had regenerating health...

Blimey, let's hope that's from an early, early build, huh? That's not looking very promising at all.

'0 Day Attack on Earth'? Sounds like some kind of leetspeek parody.

I agree, this looks quite poor at the moment. So this is long awaited Einhander follow up? .

Looks horrible from the video. Fiddly little graphics and inertia don't make a good game.

This happened with Space Invaders Extreme and Arkanoid DS.

Outside of Japan, sure. I can't think of any game in the last several years that was published in the US by Taito proper. Most of them get picked up by other publishers or by Square Enix.

It may not be all that uncommon in Japan, but this is the first Japanese released game that I've noticed wasn't published by Taito itself.

Of course, I could completely be missing something. Wouldn't be the first time.

Man it looks like a European FPS company designed the color pallet.

Can I have some gray with my black?

No, this game is not Space Invaders.

Taito is owned by Square Enix, so that's the reason why they are publishing Taito games (outside of Japan).

However, where does all this Taito talk stem from? "0 Day Attack on Earth" is developed by Gulti, not Taito.

That's what I though too. Looks asstastic, but as long as the squeenix name is attached people will buy it. If they get really worried about sales they can always change the name to Final Fantasy: 0 Day Attack on Earth.

gulti if you're going to do something original please turn tyrian into a good game at least :< or convince shoichi yano to come out of retirement, that works too

Looks like the game might be using procedural cities.

That looks really cool.

Obviously, it would have been even better with bright, pastel colors and some underage lolis, but unfortunately Cave already has the market cornered.

Judged only on the graphics, this one looks amazing to me. However I am not a huge fan of those area type shmups, I prefer those ones scrolling fixed in one direction.
