I've been of this opinion. It's on the DS, it's got an all-star staff of developers, localizing is cheap! Three things when put together = $$$ Maybe not the huge dollars you get from mainstream titles, but it is guaranteed profit. I'd say the chance of it not getting an English release is pretty slim.

It's funny you mention that because I'm really tired of SRPGs. I love the DQ games, but also Nocturne. Actually I think DQ and SMT are the two franchises I am really following. What's your take on Etrian Odyssey then? Plenty of game play mechanics but also pure dungeon crawl with random fights (seems most people hate this.)
I liked Etrian Odyssey quite a bit, and I really like the SMT series. I no longer feel like my time is being well-spent when playing DQ, Final Fantasy, or NIS SRPGs. I almost like DQ, but the games don't have enough gameplay depth to justify their length so I can't finish them.
