I was recently thinking about how old the guy was. Chronopolis (not just the story, but a collection of his shorts by the name) sure had an impact on me as a kid, and who can forget how fucked-up Empire of the Sun was, both in book and movie form
The world has definitely lost one of its great authors.
Bummer. He definitely never seemed that old. Sad, now only a few of the great authors of that generation are left. Seems like after the 1970s anything experimental in literature pretty much just faded away in favor of a safe and boring realism that we're still burdened with.
