Really, how can you miss it? There are multiples highscore threads for the games, it's spoken about in shmups chat, and, for a doujin, it's rather high profile. With all the bitching about the "OMG! HORRIBAL FANDUMB!" I would expect people would know that's it's as much of a shmup as any other.

Again, I must question the point of this thread. It's nothing new in any respect, it's not making any lives better, it's just a random "HEY! LOOK AT WHAT DEH *insert group here* ARE DOOAN!" post. I'm not even mad that this is specifically about Touhou, if this thread had linked to some thread at Shoryuken.com, I would have said the same thing.

Why are guys so interested in the bullshit fantasies of others?

I wish, but topics like drugs prove that such logic just doesn't work. People are more willing to jump on an existing bandwagon than educate themselves — creating a new, unique experience uninfluenced by [anti-]hype. It's actually rather funny, if not outright ironic, that reception of Touhou games among high profile western players is lower compared to high profile Japanese players (which is well reflected on the score boards).

That reminds me that I need to re-do my LLS run. I finally found a way to fix the flickering in Anex (Since T98-Next runs too slow on my computer), and my slowdown rate is back to an acceptable level, so I'm probably going to upload some scores after I'm done playing Karous

I'm unaware of any male characters in Touhou.

Also, are they using Waifu without ironic intent? I've never seen it happen but I suppose it is technically possible.
