Seems more like a 3D run-and-gun to me.

Not really - it's a Smash TV deal.

It's okay, but nothing special. The scoring/power-up system in place is overly confusing and doesn't sit particularly well with this style of game. Levels take a sodding age to play through, with a seemingly endless number of enemy waves.

It's fun and I don't regret buying it, but it's not something I see myself ever feeling the urge to dedicate real time to playing.

It's decent enough fun, but it doesn't really play like Smash TV or other dual stick shooters. Mainly because I rarely use the 2nd stick to aim, instead preferring to use the L1 lock-on button. The scoring system has a reasonable risk/reward thing going on - set zombies on fire to get your multiplier up, but this also makes the zombies faster and more aggressive. You get different items from killing burning zombies vs normal zombies and it can be fairly satisfying when you set up a huge high scoring situation with the TNT (the best way to get massive scores).

There are 6 different environments with the same three game modes for each - these all play fairly similarly though. There are also 10 challenge levels which all have some slight tweak to the gameplay. The score targets it sets for you can be fairly challenging, particularly on the 6th environment (The Secret Lab), so you have to get to grips with the scoring system and using the TNT to get anywhere near those.
You cannot stop me with Paramecium alone!
