Gee, it sure is high-brow around here.Neon wrote:if you've only put 30 credits into the game, it's safe to say you haven't given it a fair chance.
I do believe I implied that I don't have Saga.Hey, you own Panzer Dragoon Saga! What about the poor starving kids in Africa who don't have $150 to buy the game? OMG ELITISM

Having an informed opinion is high-brow and therefore bad? Hey, I've never tried caviar, but I'm gonna go slam it on an internet forum because I can't afford itGee, it sure is high-brow around here.
And George Bush was a really bad president! Why? I don't know! But if I shout it enough it becomes true!

first 4 pages were funny. now it's kinda old. "i do like the game. but i don't like it as much as you. so there. go fuck yourself."

so we are all in agreement now?
ketsui is badass and to say otherwise is grounds for explusion from the club
the ketsui club...we have a hand shake and badges and everything....wicked cool!!
and im guessing you guys didnt know that upon release, every new ketsui kit shipped with a monocle and 5 chip cuff links.....
sadly only the chosen few are so lucky to have the 'full' full kit

The answer:
There are no right or wrong opinions. What's "right" or "wrong" literally cannot be proven as scientific fact, and as such, the very concept of a "right opinion" is immeasurably absurd. The only fact is that no opinion in the history of the universe is factually right or wrong.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be getting back to that DS game you were all masturbating furiously over, several months back.

as stated by my colleague in the league of ketsui keepers, we have played the game, and you haventjpj wrote:because i'm playing the pcb, and you're playing the ds game.

to have, and more importantly, to voice an opinion you must first be informed on that which you are commenting on

at least SonicR has played the damn game

When a news outlet is covering a subject, they have an expert on. If the subject is child psychology, they invite an expert child psychologist onto the show. If the subject is an earthquake, they invite a geology expert, etc. etc. Why do they do this and not just grab some shmuck from the street?Zweihander wrote:The answer:

Because the expert's opinion carries more weight. The expert knows what the fuck he or she is talking about. Typically someone smart enough to climb to the top of his or her field doesn't use words he or she doesn't know the meaning of either.
You've still failed to dispute my original point, which is that you are judging others based on an arbitrary quantity of money that they spend on a videogame.
I understand that you want to save face but this isn't an e-smackdown or something. I am not trying to 'own' you, I'm just trying to help. You're embarrassing yourself here.

Still, opinions cannot be factually proven in either direction. If I were to say that Hitler was a great man and did many great things for the Jews, you'd have a tough time using scientific/mathematic methods of judgment to prove my opinion right or wrong, since it would be literally impossible.Neon wrote:When a news outlet is covering a subject, they have an expert on. Hard? No. A needless expense in a faulty economy? Yes.Neon wrote:I used to be that way too. Justifying piracy because importing a Japanese console and games is just soooooo hardGreat, I'll just go to Gamestop and pick up a copy of Ket-- ...oh.
And yeah, I still pirate when I can, then buy whatever it is afterward if I notice I've been playing it for more than a few hours. A shame more people don't do that. But if Ketsui DS is even a HINT of how Ketsui plays (dodge bullets, lock onto enemies, get [5]s, take bosses apart, drum'n'bass soundtrack) then I'd gladly pay $70 for it. An additional $300 for a Japanese console? Not something on my list of priorities. If only 5bp opted for a region-free disc like many other Japanese developers for the 360. Ah well.

Pretty much what 5bp did when they region-locked the game, even knowing it wouldn't be localized due to lack of appeal, yeah. Way to lose some bucks, unless someone paid them a big fat sum to keep it Japan-only.szycag wrote:cool story bro

So I caught the 'Jew Tube' comment earlier too, are you adding anti-semite to your list of repulsive qualities?Zweihander wrote:If I were to say that Hitler was a great man and did many great things for the Jews, you'd have a tough time using scientific/mathematic methods of judgment to prove my opinion right or wrong, since it would be literally impossible.

Yes, there are. I specifically remember losing points on English papers in 6th fucking grade for stating opinions which were not backed up with facts.Zweihander wrote:

jew tube is not a rare nickname for youtube and reveals as much about a person's feelings toward jews as using the word gay does about a person's feelings towards fagsadversity1 wrote:So I caught the 'Jew Tube' comment earlier too, are you adding anti-semite to your list of repulsive qualities?
in other news , page 10 snipe maybe?
edit: no
You're right, there are no right or wrong opinions, only informed and uninformed, good and bad opinions. Yours and Sonic R's seem to be shit opinions of the uninformed variety. I wouldn't trust the opinion of a twelve year old who can barely read who claims Shakespeare to be overrated nor would I trust someone's opinion of a book when they only saw the last 10 minutes of the movie adaptation. That's pretty much what you two are doing. The fact that neither of you have substantiated your opinions (not that you could really, having never played the game) in any meaningful way and the fact that you fall back on this bullshit about there not being "right" opinions makes you look ignorant and illinformed.Zweihander wrote: There are no right or wrong opinions. but I'm sure both are used as derogatory comments, and should count as strikes against members who use them. really.

I dunno; context counts for a lot and using an internet meme like jewtube or casual slang like "that's gay" are pretty minor if there's no real negative feelings behind the words.antron wrote:but I'm sure both are used as derogatory comments, and should count as strikes against members who use them. really.
please, read your post again. what's "real negative"? as opposed to fake negative? as opposed to very negative? is it OK to be a little discriminatory?CStarFlare wrote: I dunno; context counts for a lot and using an internet meme like jewtube or casual slang like "that's gay" are pretty minor if there's no real negative feelings behind the words.
