I can get to level 4 without continues... then that old fat dude turns into a demon and starts raping me. Then the credit-feeding commences, cheaply negating me from reaching the final battle.dnbiola wrote:Homura. I can get to level 4!!!....

Ok, I still suck. But I'm getting better.

I'll let the game end if I have a score higher than my top score. If I don't have a new top score, I may as well continue, and become more familiar with whatever killed me. Sort of how I've always done things.lgb wrote:You're not controlling this credit-feeding?Zweihander wrote:Then the credit-feeding commences, cheaply negating me from reaching the final battle.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to it. DOOM Mode almost made me crack my DS in half.. Haha.Zweihander wrote:Good luck with that... Ikaruga. Just bought it. (And my own game in development, of course.)

Once I realized not to panic when loads of stuff filled the screen [and not to credit feed], I easily got to zone D on a 1 credit run. I screwed up a bit on zone B's boss, and died at the very beginning of zone D.
Also, I only d/led the game 15 minutes ago.

I'm playing the Capcom CPSystem 2 shmup Eco Fighters, also known as Ultimate Ecology. It resembles the Genesis game "Bio-Hazard Battle" (also known as "Crying") in a way, though it uses two buttons to rotate the little shooting bit; in Bio-Hazard Battle, the bit just rotates with you. Makes the Eco Fighters bit a bit harder to control, but once you DO figure out how to control it, it seems better than the Bio-Hazard Battle kind.
As my avatar gives away, I'm also playing the TurboGrafx-16 port of Twin Hawk... well no, my avatar gives away that it's the PC-Engine port of Daisenpu! Oh whatever, this isn't the arcade game, no need to differentiate from a nonexistant game (here, that would be a TurboGrafx-16 version of Twin Hawk). Anyway, it's not a bad port, although even the Hard difficulty setting is still easier than the default Normal setting in the arcade game. Still, I like this game better than the Sega Genesis port for whatever reason...
Maybe I'll play the arcade version of Twin Hawk more when I manage to get to the second loop on the PC-Engine version. Got to start with small steps.

Mars Matrix.
After several crappy runs, I got one decent one, where I got my gun to level 3 on the first stage, and made all the way to the 3rd stage, where I lasted 20 seconds before dieing.

Some Einhander [which I'm starting to love, but it's too traditional of a shooter for my tastes, feels like an R-Type or a Gradius with it's memorization requirements...], and some Cho Ren Sha [which I'm getting better at, but level 3 still hates me.]
