I didn't like the white label - of which I played on the PS2 - I spent a week grinding at it and was starting to have regret of my pre-order, but when I started to play black label, I actually enjoyed the game.
I am no means knowledgeable to know the differences, but a low level fellow such as myself was even able to appreciate the differences of black label and enjoy the game of Dai-ou-jou
And I am in severe minority, but I like playing X mode as well. Its like playing Black Label on drugs, with out doing drugs. Its a nice distraction from the traditional game…

I totally hear ya on that. When I tried BL for the first time (on an arcade machine), I actually made it to the fifth stage - after losing a life in stage 1!

Imagine a spilled cup of coffee totalling your dick and balls in one shot, sounds like the setup to a Death Wish sequel.

Is this port superior over the PS2 port? Just wondering if it's worth picking up if you already own the PS2 version.
Any comparison reply are welcome and appreciated
I think I prefer the 360 port, but to be honest the PS2 version is damn good it depends if you think the extra elements are worth it. The 360 version sure has it's niggles, the problem that infuriates me most is the constant need to load data when doing even the most minor movements around the menus. I can just about cope with that now (at a stretch), the game looks great and I find it fun to play.
I'm actually surprised that 5pb didn't announce this sooner. It made little sense to post the release for this port right after they got hammered with complaints surrounding DOJ BLEX.
I couldn`t give a toss if Fisher Price publishes it let, alone 5pb, no one knows who is working on it and that is all that matters. I am relieved it is being delayed if it is for the best. Thank goodness for DDPDOJX, best thing that ever happened to KetsuiX.
It is not cancelled for the X360, I can say that much.
Looks like 5pb won't be getting any more licences for Cave games in the near future. Wasn't the original release date for Ketsui supposed to be at the end of January?
i have this feeling this is going to be silently canned :/
hoping that cave themselves will pick it up.
I hope so. Then we can have another thread like this and go back to that wonderful world where people would be happy with a less than perfect port.
best post

<Megalixir> i'm stuck in a hobby with gays
Mihara posted on his blog that the 5pb company president came to his offices when the Ketsui delay was announced and asked for his help. Mihara told him that he's a craftsman who won't accept a job if it's only going to be 98% done with 2% remaining. Although he hasn't promised to be involved yet, it seems that 5pb is now working with companies 'related to Ketsui' which would mean CAVE. Mihara is currently considering whether to get involved or not, but he says it would be nice if 'talks went smoothly'. He says that 5pb's efforts in asking around for help will mean that the port's accuracy should improve a bit, and he also seems to indicate that if he got involved he would make sure there are no major problems with the game.
It's great they're trying to come to some sort of resolution over the game, instead of trying to prove to everyone that 5pb can do it all by themselves. Great news.

I totally picture this meeting going like the start of The Godfather.
edit: I'm also very happy at this news, as a non-busted Ketsui port would be very nice indeed.
There was a small team working on DOJ as you can see in the credits. So it wasn't a one-man operation.
Also, I want to clarify that Mihara has not indicated that he will get involved, only that he is watching how the talks go. I imagine this means getting CAVE folks to help out mainly. For now we can say for sure that the game will be better ported/implemented than DOJBL.
they can play DOJ white label like they have been for six years and have a pretty similar experience
yeah, it really worked out for the better - at least there is an option for DOJ and, discounting Ketsui DS, if they'd hosed the first true conversion of Ketsui that would have been a bigger disappointment.
Sorry to bump an old thread....but I just got the game and am wondering how do you unlock x-mode in the game? is it just trough play-time? I tried reading through this thread for the answer...I honestly did...but it's just too much
Any info would be appreciated - thanks
I thought it would be unplayable but it's not too bad on the gameplay said. It is actually a pretty fun game and I'm impressed with what the DS can show! Good work on the port. Just don't understand why they didn't include the whole game... nice addition of the DVD even though you can actually play the same thing. It will be helpful for the 360 port.
Its price is getting high on the second hand market here in Japan!
