Total Control (PS->DC converter)

Post by GaijinPunch »

Does this thing not read 4x memory cards? I don't have a normal one lying around to check, but it definitely doesn't read my official 4x.

I have a Total Control Plus which when a VMU is plugged in, the buttons function poorly, but works just fine with a memory unit without the screen.

I've got an Official Sega 4x Memory Card + 3rd-party 4x DC Memory Card -- they work just fine on the Total Control Plus variant like dmauro mentions. Of course, the official 4x memory card will work just fine on a Sega 1st party VMU interface. Sega should've added an LCD screen to it's 4x card -- would've added more functionality indeed. ^_~

I had an Innovation-branded one and I never once got it to work with a VMU in the socket. I always had to plug another controller in with the VMU in it.

Mine doesn't even read the vmu half the time. I have to tape it in place for it to work.

I have a Total Control 5 plus, it corrupted my Ikaruga save data the first time I tried it with my official standard VMU, and I never plugged a memory unit into it again.

If I ever need to use save data, I just put the VMU into a standard controller and plug it into another control port. If the game only reads from socket 1A, then I do some controller hotswapping.

I had the Total Control 5 plus too.
Never had any problems with my 3rd party 4X1MB.
Can a total control corrupt a vmu.
Could it be the vmu itself?
Great device TC5plus. only with third strike the Z and C button could not be used. Only with that game........strange eh?

I have 2 normal EMS Total Control converters. Work solid with my standard official VMU. Never had a problem with buttons or saves.
