If the ports contained updated graphics modes and other new features, I don't think there'd be a problem (as seen with R-Type Dimensions).
Well, there's no accounting for taste/quality (can't say I've noticed any missing animation in the graphically updated mode in RTD), but the point is that direct-ports would likely be looked at less favourably by Microsoft than ports which have substantially updated features.

I've got a launch Jpn unit & I'm in the UK I could PM you my serial later if needs be??
Would be great if they do replace/repair them with proper Jpn units...I'm still saving to buy a spare unit just incase my one ever packs up.
Thanks, but from posting about the issue on the NTSC-UK forums, I think we have a clearer picture now about what the situation is: it seems that if they repair your motherboard, you obviously get the same region back. And if they have to replace your board, you get a PAL one back. So, not ideal. Personally, I wouldn't risk buying a JPN or Asian 360 unit I could guarantee that I was getting a Jasper unit.
Now that I think about it, the possibility of anything post-2002 from Cave hitting XBLA is out of the question. People will buy the retail releases of them.

Oh dear :S
Not necessarily defending them here, but last time I checked, Christmas did occur less than two months after Halloween.
About a month ago, our primary distributor in Japan notified us after preorders for Death Smiles Limited Edition had closed that there would be a potential shortage of the game but asked us to wait for confirmation.
Last night, they confirmed that there will indeed be a major shortage of Death Smiles LE but asked us to wait until the week of release to determine how many they would be able to supply to our company. Based on the numbers that we're seeing from different vendors in Japan, it appears that the publisher will only be able to fill 5% of their preorders. We'll send another update once we get closer to the release date. NCS apologies for this problem but the admittedly odd supply situation is beyond our control.
So let's see...we've seen zero footage of this game, even in the XBOX360 LIVE feature on it. Pre-orders are a mess, with only 5% of CEs going out. Game still does not have a page on live for icons, wallpapers etc.
I sure don't know much about Atlus; why is it that you think DDP is not going to be released on XBL?

Imagine a spilled cup of coffee totalling your dick and balls in one shot, sounds like the setup to a Death Wish sequel.

DOJ ?
Hope not. the starting loading times were a mess....
DDP BLEX is from 5pb, a company which produces dating simulations mainly. They will also release Ketsui.
Deathsmiles is ported from Cave. We will see if this is actually a good thing or not as the PS2 ports from Cave (Mushi + Ibara) where far from perfect.
On the other hand Ikeda said he is working on the 360 port too so there is hope it will be good.
