Modded PSone
Modded PSone
My friend has a modded playstation and wants to sell it to me. He is asking $30 would that be a good price to get it at?
Re: Modded PSone
I think it's a fair price. A used PSX at a gameshop would cost about $20 and having the mod already performed is worth the extra money. I'd say go for it - and start enjoying tons of great PSX import shooters! It's still less than the average price of a single import shooting game.ryosnk wrote:My friend has a modded playstation and wants to sell it to me. If you find a used PSX at a yard sale or similiar, it's often $10 or less but they are generally never modded already... I've found several in the $8 range that I picked up (can't have too many spare consoles...!)

Yeah trust me you don't want to fool around if you don't know how to mod a PS2, also if i were you i would save that $30 for a professional PS2 modder so that way you can play your PSX and PS2 imports,a great shmup comboryosnk wrote:I know its old but I dont want to mod my ps2 because heck I paid $200 for it and I dont want to fool around with it. I have afew import psone games but no import system. I just would like to know if its worth it at that price.

I think my friend has that or something similair, he doesn't use a boot disk.ryosnk wrote:The guy sent me an email:
Yes, it plays all backups and imports. It doesn't have a switch -- everything plays automatically. It's got the stealth mod which allows it to play even those games designed not to play when a modchip is installed, so it's perfect.
Is that good?

$30 sounds like a fair price. If you imported a Japanese PS1, you would likely spend that much just on shipping!
Gaiden completely kicked my ass last night. I felt completely incompetent. I was struggling just to get to the first boss on 1 credit. Probably I just needed some sleep. Switched over to Parodius, and that was more my pace.theevilfunkster wrote:My friend sold me his chipped PSone for £15, i ordered Gradius Gaiden the same day!

THat's the way EVERY PS1 is sold here in Brazil, heh
Man, that's all unbeliveable. I wish I lived in Europe sometimes.
You guys can get PSXs for US$ 20, Dreamcasts for US$ 40, Amigas for US$ 5...
a PSX here, SECOND HAND, costs around US$ 60
a Dreamcast costs US$ 100
an Amiga costs an absurd amount of money (Even just an A600 with 1mb)

Old or new?
Don't forget you can still get a NEW Master System or a NEW Mega-Drive, OFICIAL products, with dozens of games in the memory and all.
A new SMS is costing around US$ 60 I think, with 66 games, if I am not mistaken
Used SMSs are like Amigas in the UK. You can get them in the bin. I've 3 SMSs, and I haven't payed a single penny for any of them.

Hey, that isn't Europe. At least in Holland people have the guts to ask 50e for a second hand PS1 or N64, Saturns are right impossible to find and when they are they're around 50, PS2 games are sold at 60e; basically, the only thing easier to come by here is Marihuana and CD-i....Shatterhand wrote:THat's the way EVERY PS1 is sold here in Brazil, heh

...and suddenly, a very freaky wormhole opened, and 4 3-foot tall market analysts fell out...
