I have Cleared both Arrange and Maniac modes, and I think Arrange mode is far easier.. I mean you can beat the mid bosses and large enemies so quickly, and in Maniac, you have to dodge lmore bullet patterns
The True Last Boss isn't even that hard.. I have most problems with the last boss on Original mode!

On the ESPGaluda-DonPachi comparison.. I would say ESPGaluda is easier, if you are used to playing the newer games. I find DonPachi easier myself though, but I just like the game more.

The Donpachi US//Arcade Version refills your bombs after every level, just a heads-up.

Just remember that the 1cc is not the be-all end-all. I cleared the first loop of DDP but I couldn't even chain the first stage properly most of the time or get all the bees. I have yet to get my money's worth from that one

The Closest ive come is ESP rade, final boss.

The trouble is, I quit after dying so when ever I get a bit further its the unexpected that usually kills me.

Mushi Arrange is pretty easy throughout since it lags so much more than Maniac.

I think Ibara Arrange is the easiest Cave 1CC though. Took me less than a week. You get tons of bombs and are supposed to use them, and when playing for survival, you still get plenty of lives and it doesn't matter too much whether or not you die in any particular place.

Deathsmiles is by far the easiest Cave 1CC if you avoid the canyon stage.

Still just Progear on my list of Cave 1CCs, and I've done that a good few times now, but nowhere near the 2nd Loop yet.

Reality is, I play a lot less Cave games compared to other shooters these days. I will go back to Mushi and the Donpachi's one day though...

I guess it depends on a lot on the person and the conditions you play on. I'd say DonPachi is the easiest but that's because there's the option of practising the game with save-states on MAME. After save-state practise it took me less than 5 runs to clear the first loop while I'm sure if I couldn't have practised with save-states it would've taken at least 5 times more runs.

DonPachi has ridiculous amount of bombs and whole final boss can be beaten by sitting in a safespot for a while and blowing the 2 bombs you get before the boss and you won without really dodging anything. Then again deaths don't replenish your bombs stock like in DDP. Also in DDP you get ridiculous amount of bombs so if you just use them and manage to get all the extends somehow you'll end up with 37 bombs...

I find games like Progear and esprade (Not sure about mushi arrange because of the TLB) way harder to clear but that's propably because I have trouble with the hitbox.

Mushi Maniac and Arrange are the easiest cave 1CC's IMO - never played Deathsmiles though.

I actually find Donpachi quite hard, but I've not really put much time into it except for when it was in the proto-stgt tourney.

mushi arrange is still the only cave 1cc i've managed. true, the autobomb and extra slowdown makes it a lot easier, but the TLB is an absolute bitch. especially her final spam generator attack. just too many bullets to stay alive for more than a few seconds....and when you get hit she becomes invincible for a while. i need to go back and work on a maniac 1cc. if i ignore the scoring i think i can pull it off.

You don't need to score in Mushi Maniac in order to 1cc it. You'll still get the extends in the stage 2 boss/stage 4.

i actually just found out about the hidden extend at the end of the 3rd stage just before the boss.....brendz showed me.....its easy to get in original but slightly trickier on maniac.....

should come in handy tho.....if i can just stop dying stupidly on the first 2 stages i can usually no miss to the 3rd boss.....another extend will see me getting to the 4th boss and possibly the 5th stage very soon....

mind you i am essentially ignoring scoring tactics for the most part......i just want the 1cc 8)

its a nice break from ketsui tho.....especially ignoring scoring....i love the patterns and enemy placement in maniac....it flows soooooo nice......i get relaxed playing it...where as ketsui gets my heart racing like crazy

Autofire is pretty necessary for scoring well in Maniac.

World records:
Yusemi-SWY – Maniac – Autofire - 2.693.609.794
Enabler-T.S – Maniac - 1.054.452.242

Granted, some of that difference is because it's SWY, but auto helps a lot.

On the other hand, Enabler's record has stood for several years, ever since the release of the INH DVD.
