It's a generic gaming site, yes. But it's got plenty of daily updates and talks about pretty much everything gaming related. Nice style too, considering how mainstream it is.Plasmo wrote:What's kotaku.com? Looks like some generic videogame site...
It is probably the world's most important vg news site.
There's a lot of commenters and that's the downside. It's almost like reading youtube. A good bunch of them are intelligent, while many others seem to have come out of youtube, with stupid replies, irritating nitpicking, ignorance a gogo, petty flamewars, plenty of wishy-washy moralizing and the usual teenager boasting ("I've got this, I've got that"). Pretty sad, sometimes.
But the site contents themselves, nonetheless, are mostly very juicy and interesting.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...
Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

It's kind of sad that, while I agree with you, Kotaku still has better comments than most other gaming sites I've been to.Fenrir wrote: There's a lot of commenters and that's the downside. Kotaku is pretty much the only site that actually posts shmup news though. Good on them.
"I think Ikaruga is pretty tough. It is like a modern version of Galaga that some Japanese company made."
Are you kidding? There's so much fluff, non-news and tangentially related crap (enough with the fucking videogame related cakes, seriously) that it's almost impossible to find anything actually news-worthy or interesting.Fenrir wrote:But the site contents themselves, nonetheless, are mostly very juicy and interesting.
If generic means really really terrible, then yes. BTW I am talking only about the content itself. Comments go without question. And yes, it was always as bad as it is now.Plasmo wrote:What's kotaku.com? Looks like some generic videogame site...
Then again, I don't follow gaming news so lol I don't actually care.
Can a Tweet be a Scoop? Or just plain bird shit laced with chokecherry seeds ruining the paint on your car (p.s. "assholes drive imports")?
