Hey Shmups Community,

I have seen a few of you post links to some of our auctions and thought I would get permission to make a formal post. So here it is.

ChaseTheChuckwagon.com, named after a rare Atari 2600 game considered by most gaming collectors to be the first "holy grail" of video game collecting, was launched 1-year ago on March 24, 2008 to be a less expensive auction alternative to Ebay for gamers. Since then it has grown quickly to over 2,100 members, hosted 94,600 auctions and sold over $80,000 in merchandise.

What sets us apart from Ebay?

No Listing Fees
Significantly reduced selling/final value fees
Free seller branded storefront/homepage
Free seller auction promotional tools
All auctions are also fed into oodle.com and Google Base classified sites
Free bulk upload system
Dedicated only to video games
Growing community member forums
Monthly listing contests - win $ for listing items.
Registration also gets you entry into sister auction site Vendazzle.com

ChaseTheChuckwagon.com is now the most successful video gaming dedicated auction site in history. Please join today and help spread the word of this new video gaming auction alternative.

Thank you,

Mike Kennedy, CEO

It's working, what else can I say? I know we have a long way to go, but frankly, I am happy growing at the rate we are - about 175-200 new members each month. And it's made up mostly of collectors that know how to treat each other. Ebay is driving people away and having lots of other issues at the moment.

We have had lots of high profile auctions and lots more coming in the future months. It really is a great place to buy and sell games.

Oh, and to make it easier for you to list some items, there are no selling/final value fees until April 30th so no risk to try it out. Listings are free to begin with.

And, check out some of my youtube vids to see I am also a gamer, not just an owner of a gaming auction site :)

a site with lower fees is only good for sellers if the auctions will reach a similar price in the first place. with so few people, a lot of niche stuff simply wont get enough interest to sell for as good a price as it would on ebay, i wouldn't have thought .. (?). or am i wrong? i wish you luck :) and if you ever find yourself with more users than ebay, i'll switch sides

Once I warm up to it (don't worry I gave ebay the cold treatment for quite awhile before I bought something), I'll buy something from someone. I don't see prices as insane as ebay just yet thankfully.

I haven't bought anything off Ebay in years (never sold anything there ever), but I've thought about it. Might give you guys a shot once I have some extra $ to burn. :)

Just like on Ebay the rarer the item or more niche it is the better it seems to sell over just common stuff. Our site mirror Ebay almost perfectly. And don't think everything on Ebay sells. It depends largely on how the seller structures the auction. Look at how many items go unsold on Ebay. I bet the ratio of unsold to sold is greater there than on the Chuckwagon. But as you are in the UK, obviously the majority of our members are in the USA. But we have a few hundred from other countries.

And, all our auctions are also automaticlly fed into classified sites oodle.com and also into Google Base so triple the exposure.

Generally, sellers are selling for the same amounts on average as when selling on Ebay. Here is a thread in our forums talking about using the Chuckwagon vs. Ebay.http://www.chasingthechuckwagon.com/for ... y.php?f=17

There is no better place to buy and sell video games.
