Monitor problem?

Hey, I was playing my game on my cab and I noticed a black spot that is pretty noticeable during gameplay and white backdrops...I tried degaussing it to no avail, this is what it looks like

Any ideas?

I don't see anything wrong on the screen, its just whats around it

You don't see that black smudge thing on the right side? >.<

Sometimes the edge gets dark with a horizontal hold or position adjustment. If it's mostly dark on a certain color- making red look brown or green look blue, then could need to be more thoroughly degaussed (you can expiriment with a magnet before tracking down a stronger degausser).
