tried playing it for a while on xbla. couldn't really get into it. and some of the block skins would really screw me up (i'm partially colorblind). so i'd be cruising until i'd hit a pattern where both blocks look the same and i'd be screwed.

I bought the Lumines game on PS2 when it came out - I was really looking forward to it as well. I just couldn't get into it though. I later sold the game and haven't looked back.

I've been playing it on PC, it's great. I have the feeling while playing it that it has a lot of depth, but I haven't dove into it too much yet.

Lumines is fantastic, though Live suffers from the fact that I don't find the stick or the 360's pad to be much good for controlling. Some of the achievements seem really ridiculous regardless.

It's one of the few games really worth owning for the PSP though.

I've got Lumines II (PSP) and Lumines SuperNova on the Ps3. Considering 1 loop takes about 50 minutes, and looping it isn't a chore, I don't play it on my PS3 that often. You can't save mid-game either, so, looks like the PSP wins... and that's the ONLY time I've ever said that in a handheld vs. console discussion.

Also, PS3 version is lacking a lot of the good skins.

I really enjoyed Lumines 1, but none of the other various incarnations seemed to offer anything different at all. So while I'd highly recommend one version to anyone, I probably wouldn't recommend a second ever.

The most overhyped game ever. I bought the PSP just for it, and it's now happily collecting dust. Luckily I use the PSP for a lot of fantastic games :D
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

Its true… Lumines is best on the PSP. The thing is a good play of Lumines will take over an hour of time to play and when playing on the PSP, I can pause and return an hour later or even the next day… I have played games in 20 minutes bursts on the regular. I download Lumines Live on the 360 and I just cannot seem to have patience to sit and play through like I do on the PSP… same goes for E4. EEE on PSP is genius but E4 on the 360 requires well over an hour of monotonous play… Q? wins on the go but not so much on console…

Anyways,
I am a Lumines junkie… my current high score is around 700,000 (have to check for exact score).

I got nearly two million in advanced mode today after about a week of on and off playing...the game lasted over three hours (not including pauses) and only stopped thanks to a fire in the kitchen. I only had one layer of blocks on the screen and could have easily kept going. I'm not saying this to brag, just to warn people not to undertake playing this game for score. It isn't like Tetris, the increase in speed stops after a certain level. No wonder this wasn't released in arcades.

Lumines is awesome, but yeah, it's too long to play on a console. :|

Some of the music is really good too. I could listen to Shinin' for hours. Take THAT, Tetris.
