Super Darius 2 PCE CD...

Post by Guest »

Was Super Darius 2 actually ever released with a spine card(the one that goes in the back of the case)?

I have several Turbo/PCE CDs that don't have one, so it's entirely feasable I suppose.

Super Darius 2 is rare as hell for some reason. I see Super Darius 1 all the time. And yeah, mine is missing the spine card too, as are all copies that I've actually seen for sale. Dunno why...

Isn't this game on MAME too?

This version isn't... at least, I'm pretty sure it's not. The Darius games for the PCE aren't made by Taito - NEC just licenced the name and made two Gradius games on their own, so they weren't released for anything other than the PCE. At least, that's how the explanation I heard went.

Darius I & II are both perfectly emulated in MAME.

Darius I & II were also released for the Genesis (Darius II was called Sagaia in the US)

JPN version was called Darius II

The PCE DUO & Genesis ports were similar but some of the levels had a different order. Also the PCE version sported more colours & better audio.

Sagaia (Darius II) was also released for the Master System:

Over all the Darius Series have some of the most kick-ass box art around:

Yeah, but the PCE games are different from the arcade games I believe. I should try out Darius II in MAME and see how it looks...

At the site I posted there is a comparison of Darius II on the various consoles & MAME. The PCE version isn't that different to arcade. Maybe the level order differs a bit, but it's not an entirely remade game as it was stated above.
I've yet to complete it though...

Darius II isn't the same as Super Darius 2 homeboy. Also, Super Darius = Darius Plus = Darius R (GBA, has less levels).

Super Darius>Darius Plus>Darius R (in terms of bosses)
Super Darius=Darius Plus>Darius R (level-wise)
