Okay, so I've just settled down for an intimate evening in with DDP DOJ Extra and Shooting Love 200X only to find I have a bit of a screen display problem. Both games seem to have massive borders on the top and bottom (or the sides when tate'd) of the screen. It's as if the 360 is displaying them in widescreen.
My 360 is running through a 4:3 CRT monitor and is set to 4:3 on the dash board which displays perfectly. I have every other tate 360 shmup and they all display perfectly in 4:3 mode, displaying a full frame picture when overscan has been adjusted. I have set DDP DOJ Extra to 4:3 in the options and I can't see an option for that in Shooting Love 200X.
How are other people running the games here? Have you managed to get a full screen tate picture on a 4:3 monitor? Maybe there's something glaringly obvious that I'm missing but I'm really drawing a blank here. Help would be much appreciated.

This really wouldn't be such a big deal if it was consistant across all 360 shmups, but Raiden Fighters Aces looks like a complete mess if the dash board is set to 640x480.antares wrote:@ Rupert H
I have the same problem when the resolution is set to 1280 x 1024. You have to set your X360 to a lower resolution to play fullscreen on a tated 4:3 screen.

Yeah it's pretty annoying. My VGA screen has no "auto" feature and I have to resize the overscan manually every time I change the resolution.
Shooting Love works also in 1024x768 but I haven't played RFA or Raiden IV since I changed to that resolution. I hope RFA looks as good in 1024x768 as it looked in the high resolution and I don't have to change every time.

Unpacked, it's around 7.8 GB.
When the game itself is extracted from the raw .iso, it's around 500 MB.
So we roughly have around 7.3 GB of dead data.
Except when installing it to your HDD, it's 3.4 GB.
Yeah, try to figure that one out.
Also, Minus Zero is crack.

In Exzeal Stage 6 you fly by a rock statue. Somehow you can make it stand up and salute you. Does anyone know how to do this?
Also everyone check out the Achievement Guide and contribute missing secret achievements if you have any

Don't you juste have to use the right way (I mean : not the left way...) to make this happen ? and it's must be worth 100k I think. I'll check this today !antares wrote:In Exzeal Stage 6 you fly by a rock statue. Somehow you can make it stand up and salute you. Does anyone know how to do this?
Any clue about that "unit 3e" ???
And : what the f*** do you have to do against that massive ship in Shmup Skill Test ??? The one with that kind of shield closing in (and killing me when only half of its lifebar got away !!!)

Double post to underline the fact I said crap right above this post :
1. Going on the right (level 6) doesn't make that guy in the middle stand up and salute you.
2. For that massive ship and its shield closing-in, you just need to shoot the core as fast as possible...
3. HOW CAN YOU PLAY WITH THE UNIT 3e ? (please !)

I'm trying to play the fourth unit.
Quite weird ! (never played XII Stag...)
Cooooooool !
But how come your multiplier is sometimes x12, x8, etc... ???? (I mean : how are you sure to always get x12 ???)
I've watched some runs through stage 1 with that fourth unit, at some times (twice in the 1st stage), the guy stays down-left and gets loads of points obviously doing nothing at all
Somebody knows how to trigger this ?
THANX !

You can play as the XII Stag ship in Trizeal as well.Hydeux wrote:I'm trying to play the fourth unit.

The multiplier raises as you kill enemies in quick succession. The multiplier will slowly drop when you're not killing anything (it's displayed in the lower left of the screen).Hydeux wrote: But how come your multiplier is sometimes x12, x8, etc... ???? It appears to be an abuseable glitch in the game. A couple of guys on the DVD make use of this trick to bolster their scores.Hydeux wrote: I've watched some runs through stage 1 with that fourth unit, at some times (twice in the 1st stage), the guy stays down-left and gets loads of points obviously doing nothing at allSomebody knows how to trigger this ?

Thanx a lot !
Anyway, I wonder if i'd ever 1cc that one (Exzeal I mean) : getting to the last boss is not hard, but the last boss IS hard ! (or rather : those f*** patterns between the appearences of the last boss
)
Trying to improve on Shmup Skill Test then... (167th today, not too bad, but not too good either
)

I am somehow rank #1 on the leaderboards of the "save the earth from the asteroids" challenge, and rank 3 for the "destroy all tanks" challenge (first one). This game's actually pretty fun.
It's pretty sad that I'm enjoying the minigames over Trizeal and Exzeal, but I'm sure I'll warm up to them some other time.

Congrats! Did you use an autofire joypad?Elixir wrote:I am somehow rank #1 on the leaderboards of the "save the earth from the asteroids" challenge, and rank 3 for the "destroy all tanks" challenge (first one). This game's actually pretty fun.
There's nothing sad about that as shmups skill test is easily the best game on offer here. It would have made for a great XBLA game imo.Elixir wrote: It's pretty sad that I'm enjoying the minigames over Trizeal and Exzeal, but I'm sure I'll warm up to them some other time.
Actually I think Exzeal is one of the worst games I've ever played in my life.
