Alfa System non-shooters

Post by professor ganson »

I picked up Phantasy Star Portable just because it was developed by Alfa System. It's not too bad. What other games has anyone played? Recommendations?

Near-complete list here:

Ha, not that complete. Full list here (it seems they've also been responsible for coding some overseas localizations as well, which I wasn't aware of):

Their PCE ports of Ys I-II and Ys III (for which Hudson and Falcom typically get all the credit) are pretty much legendary.

Interesting. I can't read that list, but I'm guessing a lot of that is work on ports and not original development. I'd like to see a comprehensive list of what they've done along the latter lines. But even more I'd be curious to hear recommendations of good Alfa System games.

Elemental Gearbolt and Linda Cube are my favorite Alfa System games. Simply beautiful artistic vision!

I'm curious about a couple things on there, like Manji Maru, which I was pretty sure was made by Red Company. But that is indeed quite a legacy. Had no idea they worked on that much. Sorta like Compile in a way.
