They were never anti-emulation. Hell, the NES Classics series on the GBA is emulated. They were (and still are) anti-piracy.

If Nintendo really wants to please the fans, they'll either re-release NES/SNES/N64 controllers (which would be great, especially if they were wireless) or create Revolution adapters for the existing controllers. I'm sure they're all ready planning something along these lines.

And I too am excited about S&P being included. Where did this list come from, anyway?

If this is true, I'll buy the Rev, especially if they offer rereleases of the controllers. Adapters won't do me any good, I don't have any NES or SNES controllers.

They'd do amazingly if they brought all those games over, so many fans would be so pleased to be able to play Mother and Sin & Punishment.

Just imagine what those lists could look like if they got some major 3rd Party support. Maybe it'd be hard with Nintendo's recent track record, but if they could get emulations of all of Konami, Capcom, Square, everyone's old stuff, they'd be kings.

That article doesn't say that this won't be happening, just that Nintendo hasn't finalized pricing or game lists. Now, that list is probably too good to be true, but this could still be a major kick in the pants for Nintendo, if they have GC backwards compatibility and a GC player, then theoretically every game on any Nintendo system (shush, no one point out the Virtual Boy) could be playable on the Rev.

I just hope, if they do charge, that they offer free trial periods, just a little bit to experiment with the game to see if it's worthwhile. It'll probably be structured like a cell phone, you can pay a small monthly fee, or a larger fee to own the game out right.

The games SHOULD be free to download, considering that it's taken Nintendo TWO DECADES to finally realize that making a TV-based console backwards-compatible might be a good idea.

I'm afraid that the list IS too good to be true-I spoke with a Nintendo Merchandising Rep. at my local Game Crazy last week, and he said that at this point, Nintendo is ONLY saying that 1st party titles will be available for download.

This ticks me off; Nintendo has got to start giving it's fans some REAL hardcore info on the Revolution-hopefully it won't take them another two decades to figure that one out.

At any rate, I'm going for a Game Cube this week; I'm not going to sit around and wait until Nintendo decides to start actually giving people more info on the Revolution.

Me too! Konami's been REALLY lazy about getting NES Contra onto either of it's PS2 Contra's, or even getting it included on the Classic NES series.

Good point, but we already pretty much know that Mario 128 is going to end up on the Revolution, and given Nintendo's track record with the Cube, IMO, there's no reason why they won't continue their franchises.
