johnny5, its not a boot, its a legit reissue seibu board.
Considering most people do not have a cabinet with stereo amplifier, nor SPI stereo connector cable (remember stereo is not jamma), then I wouldn't worry about that mono aspect of it. But I do believe RFJ2000 has a lot of the music cut out and replaced with simple loops, which could be annoying at best.
The video issue is probably your supergun's capture board problem, as this game usually puts out a very low refresh rate. I'm actually surprised you got a picture at all with that LCD setup.

1. The optional stereo output on an SPI board is amplified, so you wouldn't need a separate amplifier in your cabinet; just the stereo harness.Dave_K. wrote:Considering most people do not have a cabinet with stereo amplifier, nor SPI stereo connector cable (remember stereo is not jamma), then I wouldn't worry about that mono aspect of it.
2. The '2000' China version PCB replaced the Yamaha sound chip with some bullshit, so it's not really an issue of it being mono.

Hence the two seperate Left and Right volume pots found on an SP1 mobo if one does use an SP1 stereo harness setup. Yes, I've got an SP1 stereo harness...tech-god Matt Ross made me one back in the day -- still works like a charm. ^_~oxtsu wrote:1. Same thing with the legit re-issued Seibu PCBs of "Raiden II New Version" and "Raiden DX New Version". Both have lots of music cut out and replaced with simple lower quality music loops. Best to stick with the original Seibu Kaihatsu produced Raiden II and Raiden DX PCBs as they sound better in the audio department. ^_~jonny5 wrote:my bad....never seen that version of the game...only seen the one with the cart...Dave_K. wrote:johnny5, its not a boot, its a legit reissue seibu board.

Minor differences only (opening sequence for example). Gameplay and visuals are identical. I never played the japanese DC version, but herd there were some annoying voices when you reflect and bomb, thankfully the japanese naomi cart doesn't have this.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:How does the Naomi GD-Rom cartridge version of Gigawing2 compare to the DC GD-Rom disc version of the same name, Dave K.?
The BGM sounds muffled to me on Naomi compared to the DC version, even when amplified.Dave_K. wrote:Minor differences only (opening sequence for example). Gameplay and visuals are identical. Doesn't sound any different/worse than DC to me. Perhaps its the speakers, playing on a cab versus playing on the TV? Or could maybe how you are amplifying your naomi, if you aren't matching the impedance of the line level input, or the amplifier output with the speakers.twalden wrote:The BGM sounds muffled to me on Naomi compared to the DC version, even when amplified.
I don't even know where to start:
Nostradamus GET!

Koutetsu Yousai Strahl GET! Comes with copies instructions and dip sheet.

Air Gallet GET!

Dogyuun! GET! Comes with copies instructions and dip sheet.

JP Xexex GET! Comes with two original instructions, two manuals (one copied and one original), and a technique instruction card.

I presume for Xexex you need another cable for Stereo correct? If you get the sound via JAMMA it would only be mono correct?
ATM I still don't have a supergun (Fire-bug is still making it, I hope he gets done this weekend), but I'm going over to a friends house and play most of these boards on his Windy.

For Domino,
Yes, you'd need a simple stereo harness adapter made to take advantage of the stereo sound option. Many of the older Konami PCBs like Gyruss, A-jax/Typhoon, Lifeforce, etc. do have both support for mono and stereo as well.
You're right about if you were to use standard Jamma, you'd get mono sound output only. Many of the famous arcade motherboards like:
Neo-Geo MVS
Taito G-Net
Sega Titan ST-V
Capcom CPS-2/CPS-3
Sega Naomi
Taito Type X/ Type X+/ Type X-2
Seibu Kaihatsu SP1
and some other mobos all support both mono and stereo. ^_~

Trying to think what I receive over the last few days:
Taito F3 mobo with Elevator Action Return
Mercs
Twin Cobra
Mystic Warriors
Cyvern with mobo US version (cart is green, and the mobo will only work on US games, got it with the manual for the mobo and cart plus small marquee for $160 shipped.).
I was supposed to get Strikers 1945 II but the post office mispost the package so it's somewhere in Jacksonville.
