Super Neo Type II Lcd questions

Post by CoolModAS »

Hey, basically I am looking for a person who has the same cabinet to help me with trying to get the lcd to display anything. The jamma connector is connected to the lcd control box and then is connected to the actual pcb board with a cable going to the actual lcd panel, but I don't think it is getting any power. Can anyone help me with this, it's driving me nuts lol.

Since its a hyper neo geo cab, maybe it needs a Hyper neo geo MB to control it. Just my 2 cents, i've never seen this cab before.

The standard neo geo motherboard you have there doesn't support text messages or other things to my knowledge. I am assuming by LCD your talking about that square thing in the light panel area?

Well, the lcd monitor doesn't display text...it just displays whatever is on the main monitor. The jamma cables go through the lcd control box and from there to the main pcb board. So it's basically just like a pass-through video feed that stops off at the lcd screen. It doesn't seem like it requires a hyper board as many people that I have talked to have gotten it to work with any board.

The display will work with any game as long as it is low res 15Khz, does your display even glow? maybe there is no power to it. if you remove the panel on the back of the cab at the top there are controls on the back of the LCD panel.

The switches in your pics control what is seen on the panel ie camera/game and link functions etc.

I have the same cab and my LCD displays fine, here it is with Tekken 3

Well I have mine hooked up and I don't even see a glow, however there are 2 molex connects that dont have anything connected to them. I know one is for the original hyper neo geo board (the power) but there is one that is connected to the lcd control board that doesn't go anywhere. I am not sure what it's for. Here is a few pics:

Here is a pic of mine, check you have the switches in the correct position, the connector with the black/white cables you see top left is the cable to the LCD panel.
