I haven't committed to that weekend yet, but what weekend would it be changed to? Though I think the 11-12th is one of the only weekends that Icarus can make it, wherever he is at the moment..

Don't worry about me. The Meets are so strong and so many players have met through them that this London Meet won't notice my absence :) .
I'd make it if I could, but I've got another STG player on the way and there's a lot of family-time needed right now.

I won't be coming down at all now due to a change in plans, so feel free to change the dates for the big meet if you all want, if indeed it is going ahead this year (as it seems there isn't as much interest this time around). Once you guys decide on something, I'll edit the title of the other thread to reflect the change.

I'll be coming down for IC '09 instead.

As long as there's enough notice, I should be fine for any weekend. I'll be seeing a lot of you at IC09 also I hope.

Didn't even know that was up yet...

EDIT: Had a read, just want to say in my defence, I'm not entirely happy with some of the changes the editor has made.

Why Arc System as a developer is now referred to as an 'it' rather than a 'they' seems odd...

:?

Anyway...

SFIV had quite a crowd on Friday night.

Had a go on the new GTI club game upstairs. What is the point of a driving game where you can only go 40mph?

Sorry I missed you m0nks! I've bit a bit rubbish with posting these last few days.

I'll definitely make it down next week. Thurs or Fri?

So they have SFIV in Casino - how is the cab/sticks? Better than at the Troc?

Looks like the same hardware as Troc, mid you I'm no expert

I overheard someone say that one of the Joysticks at Troc had broken and it had been replaced with a really bad joystick. Maybe it will get busier at Casino because of that.

I'm not going to be in London on Friday but I can make it on Thursday next week.

It was a cool review, someone told me about it and I kind of guessed you were behind it before I loaded it up :p. Maybe could've had a little more on the drive attacks, since they are the most distinctive part of each character, but no biggie I'm just happy to see the name out there.

Kind of a shame it's got such a low mark compared to SFIV, though. Even if it does have a high one. I'm worried BlazBlue is going to slip under the radar for most and there will be little online community; I got Battle Fantasia on Friday and I've yet to find a single person online...

^Oh yeah  , I forgot to mention that new GTI Club game upstairs.

Yes the sticks are better than the Troc. It got a thumbs up from Zak on NeoEmpire, but they say its running slightly slower than the Troc one.
The screens are perfect.
I still need to grab the owner and get him to put it on 50p.

Hey dude. Word limitations are always the problem when going in depth. There was a lot of other content to shoehorn in.
I am really settled on the score though, future revisions will correct some of the unbalancing, and as ever, Eurogamer's audience is largely casual so I have to wonder what a first timer would think of it.

I think the 10/10 score for SFIV is stupid though. I would have been happy seeing an 8 or 9. The review lost credibility after he called the EX series 'mediocre spin-offs', which basically means he doesn't know what he's talking about.

I still can't get used to it, but in my experience that's the way it is everywhere, in games journalism at least. Companies are 'it' and not 'they'. Unless you're talking multiple companies.

Honestly - every article I write I have to go back through changing that one!

Yes, I feel a little silly now. I PM'd to ask and the Ed told me it was standard.

Popped in briefly the other day, had no idea Street Fighter 4 was there :o

I chugged a few £££'s into Muchi and loved it. The stick was particularly lovely; was it a Seimitsu? I managed to clock up a vaguely respectable 19 million from an hour or so's play: a long way off from the 150 million + score MHK had set

Right - I'm definitely putting one evening down this weekend for a lengthy trip to Casino - Friday suit anybody?

And nice one on Mushi MX7. I'm just the wrong height for that cab and find it really uncomfortable. No idea on the stick.

I got the engineer to fix Pork last night. He completely replaced the monitor chassis and cleaned the screen inside and out. Picture is sharper than before too. One slight thing is that the left side of the screen bunches a little bit, due to the size of the new chassis. Nothing can be done about that, but its fine, still very playable.

Anyone caught smudging the screen gets a beatin'.
