How is Raiden III boss rush unlocked? Does it come unlocked by default? Do you have to beat the game first?
With our boss rush game mode, we thought it would be unfair to present boss rush, and thus the latter bosses, to the gamer before experiencing them in the actual game. Who wants to see the last boss before you deserve to get to it? So we are requiring that the game must be beat, first, before you are allowed to play boss rush. I am curious what all other shmup games do. Raiden III is the only shmup game with a boss rush that comes to mind (although I would assume there are many more).
raiden iii boss rush, how is it unlocked?
How about having every boss you've beaten in the game unlocked? Make it to stage 4 and boss 1, 2 & 3 are available for boss rush. Sounds fair and should be pretty easy to implement.

We thought about that, and we'll think about it some more. Would the general idea of this be conveyed to the gamer? It would be cool that the scores for the boss rush would be dependent on how many bosses you fight, too. So if you are only fighting a few bosses, the ones you've unlocked, you will be unable to compete against scores by someone who has beat the game and unlocked all the bosses (even though they'd get a better score than you anyway if they are a better player).emphatic wrote:How about having every boss you've beaten in the game unlocked? To answer the topic,
To unlock the Boss Rush (as well as all other feature and bonus) the game must be completed.
BUT there is cheap way to go about it in Raiden III, putting the game to practice mode, the mode where enemies do not even shoot, the game is an easy clear and will unlock everything.
I don't suggest this for your game but just thought I should point it out.
