EGM gone for good

But not for the better. I'm pretty sad about it.

That's sad to hear that EGM is no more. I got my very last issue in the mail and will cherish it in the years to come. Was the final issue of EGM released in digital format?

So what other American video game magazines are still left to read and peruse while sitting on the toilet and letting nature take it's course?

I read that a French produced video game magazine by the name of "Amusement" will be coming to the USA shortly and printed entirely in English. Check out their website: http://www.Amusement.fr

Check out the heavy pixelized model on the 12th picture from the right in issue #3 of Amusement -- is that model constructed out of Legos? http://www.amusement.fr/issues/3/gallery/3rd_issue.html

The final issue never saw the light of day, it seems. 1up.com has disappeared as well, at least the last time I checked. The subscription base was solid for EGM, but I guess advertising revenues really dropped recently.

I still like GameInformer well enough. It helps me fall asleep at night. But it's not as reliable or as humorous as EGM. I'll miss it.
