Recovering from hernia surgery is no fun. Just take it easy and you'll be in business in no time, professor ganson. It usually takes six weeks to heal up and another six months to fully recover from the surgery associated with it. ^_~professor ganson wrote:I'm usually in good shape. I walk every day and do 100 pull-ups (4 sets of 25). I can't get back to this routine until I recover fully from hernia surgery. Soon, hopefully. I hate watching my arms get skinny.

Could be a bodybuilder in the off season, some guys eat like hell to gain bulk mass then use drugs to cut the weight prior to the competition season. I'd expect that typically for amateur guys only competing once or twice a year, too difficult to hold the unnatural conditioning all year round.

I'm doing that now -- just finishing a bulk. Only put on like 5-6kg though, but hey, I guess that's better than nothing. I can think of a few guys that were probably just fat, and started lifting weights like mad.
There's nothing wrong w/ that if that's your thing. It just seems like far less of a challenge. I mean shit, I was 250 in high school, and eventually got up to a 290 bench press. Getting to where I could run 10k w/o a break was a true challenge...especially after all the smoking I did.
Speak for yourself. Intestines in your nut bag? I can't think of anything better!Recovering from hernia surgery is no fun.

6' 225 lbs. I've lost about 10 lbs (and almost 2 pants sizes) in the last 2 months though. I've just started a year-long exercise regimen. My goal is to reach 200 lbs. by X-mas this year. I've been jogging 30 min 3 days a week on the treadmill (up to 5.5 mph) and then doing the Wii Fit exercises (mostly the strength training) 3 days a week with a 1 day a week break. It's just starting to make a big difference.
Of course, I just had to take a bit over a week break due to a rather painful high ankle sprain that's JUST going away now. Sucked. Pissed me off to get out of the rhythm.
I'm trying to get into good enough shape to pass the police physical here and actually use my university degree.

60kg at 174cm. A bit underweight, even though I feel quite healthy, and eat a lot too :/ Another +5 kgs wouldn't hurt, though if I knew how to gain them.
I also thought I was pretty much fit until I went to the swimmingpool yesterday... 40 minues of not even constant swimming got me sick and tired to the extent that I nearly fainted. That made me think
