Is their any way to get the PCBs designed for curved monitors (Astro City) to look right on a flat monitor (Blast City)? like a converter or unit or something?
You could mess about with the linearity and pincushion to warp the image all ways. Not sure why you'd want to though.
PCBs that take into account the curvature of the screen? I'd like to know of one (other than Holosseum and Time Traveller of course).
Do Don Pachi for example, Its all distorted on my Blast City Tri-sync and I was told it was because the hardware was made for a curved screen not a flat screen.
I correct myself it is the monitor Chasis, i guess they use the wrong chasis in those things for some reason, screwed up. but still if anyone knows of anything let me know,
That sucks, maybe you could find a correct chassis. I actually did use a fresnel lens for that purpose on a cab. The monitor was old and the geometry was a bit off- plus the angle of the screen was a little too slanted. The fresnel lens made the screen bigger, changed the percieved angle, and added enough wierd magnific stretchyness that the bad geometry was completely un-noticeable. It sounds horrible, but I actually really liked the image and it's one of my favorite cabs. It looks very organic.
