This is a great list. I would've liked to see Ketsui DL a bit higher up, but it's got a lot of reasons to be low: people don't seem to like boss-rush shmups; people wanted a full port of Ketsui and were disappointed; people compare it to Ketsui and vote for that instead; people don't like it because it's on the DS. I don't agree with these reasons (well, I haven't played arcade Ketsui, and in comparison I'm sure it is better) but I understand them and accept them.

Otherwise I agree with most of this list, well done everybody.

This probably has to do with counting as 1/43 of the vote, but I was a bit surprised how well everything I voted did. I made my 25 list and then just truncated to 10 for this one, and my first 12 all ranked in the top 38.

Yeah, I'm using it to mean "circle dodging game", more or less. I agree that Raiden games fit the bill.

I think treasure stuff could be considered "half-manic".

On one hand they have manic elements (small hitbox and bullet patterns), on the other they have plenty of shit that isn't bullets (asteroids, green slime, etc.).

Seems to me most "less experienced" people haven't played Deathsmiles. I know I haven't gotten the chance.

Agreed, i actually listed the top 10 non-bullet hell games there, rather than top 10 non-manics.

I'm retiring the ATTOTLE for a few reasons:

1) participation went from 78 in year 1, to 43 in year 2 - the opposite trend of a healthy idea, such as the Top 25's ever-increasing voters;
2) the Top 25 participation rules have been considerably relaxed, negating the original purpose of this endeavor;
3) i'm 2+ weeks late and no one posted asking about this year's, nor any pms of "zomg where's this year's ATTOTLE".
