Ok, had a lunch time break in which I had to give up my winning streak at 15. The strongest adversary was a good Blanka, but at some point my Sagat was really of the

tigertigertigertigertigertiger

variety. Good timing and a solid defense game makes him virtually invincible.

one of the best games ive played was My sagat vs another one. there is somehitng very sexy about catching everyone of there fireballs with one of yours and leaping just in time to land a standing heavy kick in to the tiger distruction :P

My Sagat destroys, too. I played quite a bit last night and only trouble I had was Vega. Everything was working for him... Couldn't do anything. Another highlight was a very high ranked E.Honda that couldn't do anything at all vs the Tenacious King. Fun stuff.

I have more trouble against oddball characters than I have with Ryu/Ken/Akuma/Sagat. On a side note, how do you manage against a I-stand-as-far-as-possible-and-I-do-the-big-fireball-ad-infinitum-Akuma? Seen my fair share of these and it's always tricky...

even though im only about 1000 battle points in i set it so I get people who are better than me and im still kicking ass. Vega has always been a tricky bastard hard to use and dificult to fight against. I really do think Ruffus is going to be a big hitter in the future along with El and crimision viper. Everyone is too scared to use them right now lest someone looks on them in distain. When i get some time off im going to have a really good go at either Ruffus or EL

Hardest difficulty arcade mode? Some players complain about Seth but it's really easy with certain characters (Blanka, Honda, dictator, Zangief, Gen, etc.) and middling difficulty with good characters like Sagat and Ryu. Overall, probably the easiest SF 1-player experience and easiest final boss; there are just too many things the AI completely falls for.

Yeah, I've been experiencing the same thing. I find the hardest difficulty level to be "too" easy considering it's...well... the hardest.

Capcom should put in a "Super Turbo" difficulty level.

Or if they're really cruel, an "Art of Fighting" difficulty level.

So I got my hands on the 360 version, and have been playing some online ranked matches. The online play is pretty good so far, only thing is that I'm playing late at night when all the total noobs have gone to bed. So I get matched against players better than me, higher ranked. Nothing makes you realize you suck like getting your ass kicked. :P

It's definitely fun to have so many different opponents to fight against, beats waiting in line at the arcade.

I wonder how easy it is to game the system by kicking people out of your match until the guy you want to join shows up, and he throws every game to boost your ranking?

Add another "gotta go" string today. It's funny though, a lot of people avoid any shoto's and try mid-high tiers.

Had a close one with a very slick Zangief player, he fumbled the last throw and allowed me to land a special at the very last second. I also played against a competent Rufus player, the fatso looks stronger than it seems.

You can't really think of Rufus in terms of his weight; he's all rushdown with dives connecting with other moves. From all accounts though (since Mago stopped playing him), he's too straightforward, which means that his potential has been reached at mid-tier level.

Well, he definitely looks a ball of lard.

I have also seen that he looks pretty limited, maybe like an initial version of Yun (Yang? The weaker of the two SFIII twins). I was thinking they were targeting to have a clone of the stronger one, instead.

Abel also looks as a pretty limited character: any good words about him?

I'm actually enjoying 4 more than 3, which I was -not- expecting at first. Played this for probably over 100 hours now and still enjoying the hell out of it. I keep changing characters too often (and keep using ones I'm not all that great with) to get my BP up over 1400 consistently (reached 1500-1600 a couple times) but whatever. As long as I'm having fun.

On a side note, although there are obviously some characters that are going to show up more often in serious/tourney play more than others (*cough* Sagat *cough*), I think the balance is way better than 3 overall. As in, there are more than 2 characters worth using "for real."

Damn glad I bought this and a new joystick to go with it.

bp system is a joke. don't worry about that. i fluctuate between 3500-4000 and can't really get much higher with all the damn quitters. and the top ranked peeps are all boosters who can't play worth a damn.

and sagat....   too easy to use. definitely needs some tweaking.

New glitch found with Gen that allows him to parry.

http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2010/jan/ ... fighter-4/

Can't say how useful it would be in real play. Hell, I have difficulty pulling off the focus-dash cancel.

Considering how great Yeb's execution is, that's going to be huge for his game. Anything that can help a Gen player out is cool with me. I feel bad stomping them with my Honda all day.

I'm out of the loop a bit, any release date for SSF4 yet?

Early April, according to Gamestop - was originally scheduled for sometime in March but was pushed back.

Good day to bump this:

Old news to everyone else, but new news here:

Returning SF characters to SSF4: Ibuki, Makoto, Dudley, Guy, Cody, Adon, Deejay (ugh) and T-Hawk (double ugh!). New to the game are Yuri and Haken (no, I'm not joking!)

Check out Haken's official trailer (this is not a rick roll): http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/3590 ... 30810.html

I didn't think Capcom would be able to top Rufus as king of utterly unappealing chracter designs, but they went and one-upped themselves.

Fucking stupid as hell.
