Wow, that rules...thank you.

I have a few Neo carts (shooters) in my collection, but I'm missing great ones like Pulstar and Zed Blade.

Thanks for the vid Kiken, it was great to watch. Ragnarok and Blazing Star were the two that caught my interest the most, they seemed to be less R-Typish than some of the other horzies.

Wish I had the equipment to do a PCE Shooting Special vid.

If anybody is willing to host it, I'll be happy to encode it into MPEG1 or 2 format. LMK.

Heck, I might even make a ready-to-burn ISO/Nero NRG file for you to watch it on VCD or DVD.

Good stuff, and a much more lively effort in the commentaries than Aaron Nanto's stuff (although I do appreciate what he's done, and his site is a great resource)

It was also great to see Kiken die so many times  It's quite a change from his superplays I'm used to seeing.

Well done Kiken, especially liked seeing Brikin'ger for the first time.

Go Kiken!

I figured this would be as good as time as any to sign up here. ^_^

I am the MYSTERIOUS MAD EDITOR from the credits. Though, this video is honestly all Kiken and his mad skills.

On the audio issue- On your next project, I'll help you with the balance issues. I didn't have a chance to run you through how to do normalization, et-cetera. Plus I've found some tricks to help from blowing into the mic too much.

I've been practicing some Metal Slug 2. Maybe we can try to plan out those couple of two-player run throughs.

Plus I've found some tricks to help from blowing into the mic too much.
Step 1: Get a better mic.
Step 2: Use it.

I don't think it was so much the mic. I wasn't there when he recorded (I mostly came up for a bit of the weekend a few weeks back to help him do the op and end stuff. Which, once Kiken knew how to do the things he wanted to do, he did the rest of the editing himself.) so I couldn't give him any pointers on the audio. And, this was his first audio project like this I think. However, even on my cheapass mic I have here I've been able to get good sound out of it without popping.

It's the mic. I'm guessing it was a mega-cheapass PC mics of some kind. Those things can't handle the SPL's delved out by bee farts, let alone someone hating on Ghost Pilots. ;)

After watching this I had to go give Last Resort a try. I didn't like it much before, but I'm enjoying it alot more after giving it another shot.

Wonderful video there, Kiken. A good third of the games on that video I'd never heard of before.

Yeah, but it's MY mega-cheapass PC mic! :P

Actually, I recorded something entirely unrelated with it yesterday, and it turned out alright. Just had to hold it beside my mouth [out of breathing range], crank up the volume by 500%, run it through a noise filter... :)

Might also be able to make a cheapy filter-thing. I don't know what htey are called. The recording studios all have them. Like a thin foam plat that separates you from the mic. Maybe with a kleenex?

I think it's called a windscreen. And that's all you should need to fix the popping in the audio. Actually, you can make your own windscreen out of a lot of different things. I'd try a thin t-shirt or sock and see if that helps.

Awesome, thanks Snacky-I'm downloading it now!

And thanks Kiken for putting this together!

Now, all we need is a PCE Duo shmup special-it could be separated into 2 parts-one on the HuCard shmups, and one on the CD shmups. I'd do it if I had a Duo, the games, and the equipment.

Just watched this Kiken, and it was fantastic! You did such a great job with the intro and and ending-I wasn't expecting anything like that at all!

And BTW, the ending was absolutely hilarious!

Pop filter. They are not very expensive at all, though most of the ones at eg Musician's Friend are for use with mic stands.
Though I suppose if you wanted to do things really cheaply, you could get some hosiery, stretch it out and hold it in place in front of the mic while you record :D

I haven't watched the video in its entirety, so no comments on it just yet.

Excellent video, Kiken. I can tell you put a lot of effort into it and I imagine getting that collection together cost you a pretty penny.

Now I have to hunt down Viewpoint and Last Resort, they both look amazing.
