Actually, I have a copy of Fire Shark on the way, but its not here yet - so definately bring yours. I'll be interested to check ot that Genesis flash cart too.

Just an fyi - I won't have any beer here, so those of you looking to booze it up, grab some on the way. I did happen to buy a shitload of soda, water and snack food. :D

See you tomorrow night szycag!

Is there going to be cabs and or superguns there or do I need to bring my supergun? So far I plane on bringing Ibara, Striker45 II, Aerofighters, and Boogie wings.

Oh there's going to be cabs there, mrtie! I am not driving 6 1/2 hours for some Famicom and Genesis games...oops, sorry Recca fanboys...

Yeah, there is going to be some cab action, with some oldskool Toaplan love!

Hey make no mistakes, the cabs are the main attraction :) I'm betting only drboom will appreciate my retro stash, and we'll probably blaze through most of that stuff the night before anyways :X

I'd imagine if you've got a supergun mrtie it would be appreciated just so we can get through more games and people will be able to migrate to what they want to play. drboom mentioned bringing that stuff if you've got it in the first post.

It's PC-ENGINE, not Mega Drive. Don't forget it.

No worries, I love the pc-engine too...

I guess I was referring to the rare Famicom cart, and "Genesis games" just got in between "Famicom" and "Recca fanboys"...

I love all the systems, no prejudice here. :)

Yup, definately some hot candy cab action. 2 Astro City's to be exact.

The supergun would be a great idea - definately bring it. The NEC XM29 I have will work great with it.

Looks like there will be about 10 people staying over on Saturday night. I have a feeling we'll be playing very late. 8)

Do you have wireless internet capabilities at your house drboom? I intend to bring my 360 with my monitor to play it on but would need some way to access the internet for arcade games.

EDIT - Wait a minute, if it is my own 360 and not another with my hard drive attached on, does it need to be connected to the internet?

if it's your own 360 you shouldn't need to go online to activate the licenses unless you bought the games on another 360 originally. isn't Sonic R bringing his NTSC-J one? I'm gonna bring my SF4 controller so people can have that option.

Does anybody else like stouts or IPAs? I bought some good stuff a while back but haven't really been drinking lately. So yeah, free beer if people like that kind of stuff.

You have my attention with the IPAs sir. What kind? Great Lakes or some thing more exotic? I should get some fancy beer for the trip.

Altogether, here's what I have:
Great Lakes Blackout Stout (4 pack)
Two-Hearted Ale (6 pack)
Bell's Hopslam (6 pack)

Misc individual bottles:
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA (x1)
Old Rasputin Imperial Stout (x2)
Great Lakes Edmund Fitzgerald (x1)

I need to break my kid-in-a-candy-store mentality when I go beer shopping. I always buy too much. Better than drinking too much I suppose...

I'm still hoping to make it out, but there's a bit of work left to do convincing my family that it's safe to drive 4 hours each way to meet with people I don't really know, and all that. Is there still floorspace available for crashing Saturday night?

Yup. There's floor space. Come on out. We're all friendly, I'm old and most of us are married with kids. We're responsible adults. Except for those of us who are violent drunks and child molesters. Which is like only half. :D

I can't seem to find my Genesis, so if anyone has one to bring, I'd appreciate it. szycag and gunbird18 are here and we're all playing something at the moment, making sure all the carts and pcb's work...

I can bring along my Genesis 3 if necessary? (I need to find it first lol) otherwise I'll bring the X'eye.

Looking forward to meeting everyone tomorrow!

EDIT - I have found my Genesis 3 - I'll be bringing that - it has a wide slot for Mega Drive games.

Taking a break for a late lunch - here's a couple pics. Super fun so far. Andi is killing Alzadick and Dave won't let go of the Recca controller.

I would like to give a huge THANK YOU!
for drboom for his hospitality and for putting together this gathering and tournament.

My wife and I enjoyed our selves and a good time was had. Next time I think us Michigan (and Toledo) folks can agree it will be better to stay in town for the night

It was a pleasure to meet everyone and make friendship with folks who share the same passion and interests! Looking forward to future gatherings.
