I like it more than Coke or Pepsi. It's sort of in between the two: sweeter than Coke but "fuller" (for lack of a better word) than Pepsi.

This is why I'll never touch coffee. Everywhere I've worked there have been a few coffee zombies that can't function until they've had their first coffee.

lol is it this bad with caffeine?
I think it isnt affecting me at all anymore, since i can even have coke late and sleep okish.
Which people should be worried about that? Maybe the ones that have 3 cans of coffee a day?
Momijitsuki wrote: It's based on a few things, really. Caffeine's probably the biggest factor, but the tremors also come when I do something like prolonged labor involving me lifting stuff, or when I'm overly nervous or angry. Other than that, it's barely noticeable. It doesn't really get in the way of playing shmups at all, unless I get really mad at the game, which I'd usually just quit for a while anyway if it's frustrating me that much. It's annoying at times, but certainly not a big deal by any means. :o
well im sure you just have to learn to live with it, and when it is as you say really no big deal, im glad i reall isnt one :P
Though to be honest i would have a hard life with it, since im shaking the whole winter already (e-even n-nn-now) and it doesnt help out with my work. :x

On Topic: Pepsi Max is for me the nicest coke.

Off Topic: caffeine only helps to start my day.
If I drink lots of it later, it aint helping me getting around better.
At the end of the day, alcohol is way better.

Energy drinks have more caffeine and impact though.

Vernors is quite possibly my favourite pop and it's caffeine free around here. I agree on the first time too "interesting texture..."

Haven't had RC in a dogs age but last I checked it was ok, possibly the only true cola I ever liked. As for 'by the book' cola, Dr Pepper is the way to go although as someone already mentioned here I get heartburn from it sometimes, which is a shame.

Read this article. I don't drink bottled water because of crap like this and I don't drink tap water because of possible contamination. It's lose lose, really. Go get yourself some milk.

Dr. Pepper. It's my ceremony that whenever I drink a Dr. Pepper, I look towards Texas (it's birth place) while I do it.

I've gone on and off caffeine a few times - I've gotten somewhat addicted before (I'm probably somewhat addicted now), but I don't think I've ever been to the point where dropping the stuff causes more than headaches. Still sucks to be lethargic with headaches for a while while you're detoxing though. :(

This is not necessarily true anymore, at least for soda. There have been quite a few soda brands (mostly smaller ones, but I have also heard rumors of Pepsi considering it for at least some products) that have been actively moving away from corn syrup in favor of cane sugar) A number of the stores around here have also recently taken to selling imported Mexican Coke (which uses cane sugar and comes in glass bottles) as well, and there seems to be a demand for it. There is also a "Kosher for Passover" Coke that is sold around that time that uses cane sugar, but I haven't ever found it around here.

Wow, I never knew it was that complex to put water in a bottle.

Milk is superior anyway.

Bottled water also has some stuff from the makeup of the plastic bottles floating around in it.

It's up in the air as to what water's the best without testing. If you're in the city and they've just flushed their pipes, wellll...that'd drive me towards bottled. In the countryside and using a well, the water's supposed to be nicer, but then you don't have the city watching out for nasty solvents and other junk in your well water.

I wonder if these guidelines are still accurate?

Anyone had Pepsi Raw yet? I think its only available in the UK but it supposedly has no artificial ingredients at all and is fewer calories than regular Pepsi.

I love Diet Coke.

I prefer the darker colas for their depth and mature vigor. When aged in their fine aluminum barrels for weeks, they pick up the inherent earthiness of their respective region. A fine cola must be opened properly and it must breath a bit before drinking. Sometimes it becomes necessary to "burn" the pop for better aeration. Lighting a match and then watching it go out over a fine glass of vintage cola is the main part of the process. As said before the colas are for a more sophisticated palette. To put into barbaric terms, a cola is a sexy young woman in an expensive car, a citrus pop would be akin to a toothless redneck woman in a plastic pedal car.

The citrus pops are not without merit, however, they should only be consumed for the caffeine. One can't watch the glittering playfulness of citrus pops in the presence of a more refined and stoic cola.

The proper container comes into question with fine sodas as well. For a citrus soda, I would recommend a chilled white ceramic mug. For the cola, a clear white glass is the only way to go.

This brings Me to the final point-ice cubes. Depending on the soda's week and clarity ice cubes may subdue the flavor of your costly beverage. Again, ice cubes may compliment the sparkly spittyness of a citrus pop, but the smooth taste of a cola may be diluted via too many cubes.

In a public setting it is quite acceptable to slurp cola, aeration of the palette only makes the refined taste stronger. If the table waiter looks annoyed at your professional slurping, politely spill the drink on his dress then flip him off and leave.

Also, when trying new drinks follow these simple rules.

Slurp for aeration. The drink may gain a more robust flavor.

Color is an indicator of quality. If the color is unnatural the cola may contain traces of cancer causing substance.

Stop what you're doing. Action can cause distress and may affect the taste in a noticeable fashion.

We Hope that you will continue drinking one of the most historic and important beverages in the world. It's been with us through wars, love, loss marriage and divorce. It is who we are as humans. One doesn't see chimps brewing cola, nay this wonderful gift is reserved for us and us alone.

Am I one of the few who can't stand to drink soda straight from the can/bottle as soon as it's opened? I think the intensity of the carbonation kills the flavor, so I pour it into a glass and let it lose some of its fizz before drinking. Stirring/swirling it around tends to do this nicely.

You're not alone, just give the glass an abrupt knock on a flat table and it will make the majority of the active bubbles deteriorate.

Letting the beverage breath briefly will make it more palatable for those with a less tolerate mouth. However the depth of the cola is brought about by slight pain. Just as pain of a mother brings fourth a child so shall the pain of the carbonation bring forth flavor.

I love the sharp tingling caused by the initial strength of the carbonation.

yeah it makes you swallow like thrice in a row because with the carbonation there is just too much pressure in your throat.

I don't drink, er... "brus" at all, anytime (maybe a bottle every 6 months) and yes, it's a bit strange.
But if I had to be forced I'd vote for coke. The usual one, no light or zero or shitty things.
Beer, on the other side...
