Agetec Mod for Dreamcast

Post by WedgeAntilles »

Hello.

I know this has been posted in a lot of places. I'm looking to replace the joystick and the mechanism in my Dreamcast Agetec stick. What is the best replacement that will require the least drilling, cutting, etc.? Also, is the wiring harness the same, or will I need to do some soldering? Thanks for your help.

a seimitsu stick.... it's the same thing for the most part. I think it will plug str8 in to.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I am pretty sure a Sanwa fits easier. An LS32 is quite a handful.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

Wow, you really cut away the whole thing there, oxoid. Sure it's up to you, but it's not neccesary.

As you can see in the first link you have to cut away some stuff if you wanna mount a LS-32. If you don't have a dremel tool, you can try to use tongs, cutter, and strong sandpaper.

I think you can fit some Sanwa stick in there without cutting too much though.

It's not necessary but you don't get the right mounting depth if you don't is all. That might bother you just depending on how you like your sticks.

Ah, that's right. It's a little low if you don't remove everything. But I had no problems with it - actually I liked it.

None of those links are mods done by me.

Only agetec mod I did was a JLF/sanwa buttons one.

JLF is the easiest stick to get in, since the plastic housing for the original stick gives 23mm from balltop bottom to top panel when mounted without the JLF mounting plate.
