You never know what next American arcade/console maker will get hit next. It's business as usual...gotta do what it needs to survive or if not, shut down the entire operation for good.

Will Williams bring back their famous pinball division, especially after their big failure that was the Pinball 2000 series of pinball games? They still rake in profits for their slot machines division.

They were purchased by Infogrames years ago. Infogrames just use their name for the recognition factor.

Didn't Atari hire Phil Harrison away from Sony? Got a feeling they are on the upswing...

Actually, next up Square-Enix probably buying Eidos. The end times are a-coming. It won't be long before SE and EA are the only two publishers left. Then they'll face of like Godzilla and King Ghidorah, with us mere mortals crushed underfoot.

Perhaps more like Clash of the Titans, hmmm? Them two behemoth software devs going at it until one emerges victorious. There can only be one. ^_~

Actually, Infogrames did change their name to Atari and that is how it is these days. Now if the new Atari were to get back into make some killer app console hardware...that I'd like to see.

Yeah, I've wondered about that entire game compliation collection...it's gotta be worth a mint. ^_~

I wouldn't mind seeing a new Klax sequel as the old Atari Games company never did a sequel to it anyways.

Lets forget their shitty downslide into mediocrity (just like Sega) starting from the mid 90s and remember them for their great early arcade games in the early 80s instead. If you haven't played Gorf, Joust, Defender you haven't lived.

Haha. Niggaz, MK is too legendary to ever die, and I fuckn love the series regardless of how shit they are as competitive fighting games. Too much good history, characters, and humor, and the first live-action movie ruled and the theme is one of the most famous 90's dance tracks.

Wonder if Ed Boon will start a new company to continue the series. Just depends where the rights end up I guess.

I'd rather mention San Francisco Rush 2049 (yes Atari, I know)!

Both are games worth remembering though.

That said, since 80% of their games can be considered total garbage.

But sad to see such a big name (probably) getting out of business.

Yep, that's right, Williams ended up snatching Bally-Midway Mfg. Co. for their pinball and arcade game divisions. ^_~
