Looking for a old Shoot em up Coin up Arcade game.

Hello, Im looking for a Shoot em up game i have played on Arcade when I was young...

I will try to give you info about the game:

- It was horizontal side

- You have to recollect a lot of atoms, the screen was full of atoms, and when you have a lot of them..... then you can shoot a giant ball .

- first level, I remember that final boss, shoots a giant ball too....
If you shoot a giant ball, then, the final boss giant ball and yours, starts to fight...

Any ideas?
I dont remember the name or platform....

sounds like metal black to me

Sounds exactly like Taito's Metal Black (arcade / Saturn, and later PS2). The screen can get chock-full of powerups (atoms) at times too.

Taito's own G-Darius and Taito alumni G-Rev's Border Down have MB-esque beam battles as well, but not the distinctive powerup swarms iirc.
