Repairing a PS2 Saturn Pad

Post by MOSQUITO FIGHTER »

The d-pad on my PS2 Saturn controller is worn out. It sticks in the up and left position. All the buttons on it work fine though.

I have an old original Saturn pad. Can I just swap out the parts from the old Saturn pad and repair the PS2 Saturn controller?

Yes. I did much the same thing on my USB Saturn pad. The grommet underneath the right direction actually came off. I ordered two Saturn pads and just swapped out the spacer.

Thanks. It works great now.

It was super simple to repair and I’ve never taken a controller apart before. They are pretty much the same except for the start and select buttons. Even putting the buttons in was easy; it had tabs so they went back in the controller perfectly. Went ahead and swapped out the buttons also, I think it looks alright.
