It was relleased recently in the official site and incudes the SEQUEL stage.

Have you tried putting the patch into TWAIN's folder then clicking the patch to extract? Let's hope it works and is same way as TWINS 2.00 patch

Hello there SnakeEater, I'm KiraXVII from youtube, the same person which asked you about the TWINS patch, I'm only here because you didn't answered my question, yet... BASTARD! Are you blind? (it's localized on your "C74 Twilight Refrain ST7 (J) TLB *mega-spoilers*" video).

Anyway, the problem is: don't matter which folder the TWAIN patch is, when I click the patch to extract, the first thing to appears is what is assumed to be an documentary pointing out the former changes and versions differences which is measured in the patch, weird enough since the TWINS patch doesn't includes anything like that, then the question asking if you really wants to patch the game pops up, problem is that when I click it, it seems that the "browse" category is missing, making it unable to choose whatsoever folder you want to patch.

Hope I was specific enough.

It seems that you have to put the patch in your TWAIN folder then extract it, i had same problem with TWINS 2.00 patch and it worked.

I know this is an old topic, but I found it in google and figured I'd post here instead of making a brand new topic.

I can't get any of the patches to install. I tried putting it in the same folder and I tried switching the locale to japanese, but it still won't install.

I'm having the same issue with TWINS, but the only difference is that it lets me choose the directory. I heard that updaters for some doujin games are just weird or finnicky (sp?), but I'm not sure what else I could do at this point.

Make a .reg file with this for the contents:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\TWilight refrAIN_is1]
"InstallLocation"="C:\\TWilight refrAIN\\"

Replacing "C:\\TWilight refrAIN\\" with the location the game is in (using double backslashes instead of single). Then double click on the .reg file, then run the patcher and it should work.

Edit: For whatever reason, the background doesn't show up in the stages. I can see the colors at the top and bottom, but thats it. It's been like this since before I applied the patches, so it isn't that. I only recently found out that that isn't how the game is supposed to look.

I never had an issue with patching TWINS, so you'll need to elaborate on your problem.


As for the backgrounds in TWAIN not showing up, when you first open the game, in the dialog window, there should be a box with four checkbox options in it. The 4th one is 'Do not draw 3D backgrounds', so if it's checked, that's probably the problem. (If you diasbled the dialog box, there should probably be something like a nodialog.txt you have to delete to get it back.)

Also, there is an English patch, but you may want to keep a backup copy unpatched, as the patch apparently has a crash on the Mikahashi twins' true ending.

I'm not really worried about the ending though, I'll never be able to get it anyway

Can you properly see the text shown in the updater? If so, copy the last 5-10 lines shown so we can see what kind of error it's giving.

Normally, no. I had to switch to Japanese locale to properly see it. Here's some of what I got:

edit: no idea why it isn't displaying properly. I tried the code tag, and the quotes tag, but they don't work. hopefully this is enough to go on.

From what I can gather, it seems to be saying something about a file already existing (to be created file? I don't know). However, since the end of the sentence is garbled, it could also be saying the file isn't there. Do you have the KeyConfig.exe file?
Also, maybe check which version you have on the title screen (though I hope you already have).

I figured it out. It was because I was using the english key config I forgot to remove after I figured out I installed the english patch wrong. I deleted that and it patched the game and put another config in its place, and the rest of the patches plus the english patch installed without incident.

Btw, does anyone know when/if there will be an english patch for alternative sphere?
