What's wrong with religion? Religion rules. I should form one myself. It will revolve around shmups. All followers are to offer The God (me) money (So I can buy arcade PCBs) or they won't achieve salcation (1cc) and all their shmup related hardware will mysteriously break (by me) and the world will end. It will be a huge success, I mean same stuff did work for every other religion out there.

I read someone ramble once that Yahweh once was part of a pantheon? It kind of amuses me to think of Him as a fellow who committed mass deicide on his friends.
