Hi guys, Ive just acquired a super megalo 2 and am having a lot of trouble getting a picture to work on it, the sync is all out of whack.
When i bought this it was working fine, had street fighter third strike running
the monitor is a 50 inch rear projection screen, ive seen someone hook the same monitor up to a mame machine, you can actually see his vid on youtube, but cant find any more help on connecting a console or mame comp to this system
Any help? im so lost......really big sad looking screen doing nothing in my lounge room
Sega super magalo 2 screen sync issues
Megalo
tried hooking it up to a j-pac board
The system takes rgb/cs but im pretty sure my problem is that the megalo2 has a massive controlboard(i like to call it the brain)
this thing will spill out error messages on the credits lcd if anythings wrong and controls sound, video and the 3 different game boards you can have connected to it at the same time.
Now im trying to start this without a game in it, just a computer, i think because all the other stuff isnt connected the brains tripping balls and wont display a picture.
Im going to try hunt down a game that works and disconnect the video and sound signals from that game and hook up my comp
but please if any body knows anything about these systems or knows anybody that knows something i'd really like to get in touch, these machines were fairly popular, im sure everyones sat on one at least once..

ok...so its a 15khz screen?
do you have an arcadeVGA or soft 15khz running on the PC in question.....because without the right drivers your computer is trying to feed the monitor a 31khz signal which it cant handle
im pretty sure this is your problem unless i missed something.....
also make sure you have the jumpers in the right place on the JPAC...one of the jumpers should be on 25khz and one on 31khz iirc
if it can use a 31khz signal then you take the jumper off the 31khz on the JPAC as well as the 15khz one

Wow D, dont know how you found that pic but its got more info on the megalo2 than ive ever seen lol!
i think i might have the 24 hz board installed which means a j-pac wouldnt work, ill look into it.

no i dont think it would
the arcade vga card out puts a standard 15 hz and puts 31 out on bios load.
Theres like 2 24 hz modes i can think of for a few games, and there pretty nasty from what i remember. and to make the card output 24hz id have to initiate these games.
