DDPDFK DVD?

Post by KindGrind »

Just saw some footage of 1.5, and Jesus. Pretty crazy stuff. The Hibachi music alone is enough motivation to try to make it there. With people tearing the game apart and all, a DVD would be most excellent. Is there one on the horizon?

Nothing announced yet if I'm up to date. There's an unofficial one though that pops up every now and again on yahoo.

Pretty sure the one that keeps popping up on YJ is a 1.0 DVD.

But yeah, I've been waiting for a DFK DVD too. The game just looks so good that I want to see it in DVD quality.

Expect a superplay DVD within the next 3 months. Pretty save that they're going to release one.

If so, the scores will likely be in the range of 750—900 billion. Though I'm sure we'll see something akin to HFD's effort someday, which will attain, like, 1T+.

The game's still fairly new. I don't think I've seen any superplay dvds come out within or under the first year of the game. Meanwhile, go and listen to the Daifukkatsu soundtrack which is really amazing. I'd recommend it to everyone.

DeathSmiles, and I believe Mushi Futari as well both have had a DVD release within the first year after the release. This was also the case with one of Treasure games, iirc.

The other problem is that the game is pretty long, AND it has a lot of character types to showcase. Even without using the Strong style and Tsuujou loops, we're still looking at six two-loop playthroughs, not counting various omakes. I'm fairly sure a standard double-layer DVD will not be able to hold it all.

well, if they did a 3-disc release for mushi futari, i guess a multi disc ddp-dfk isn't out of the question.

OT:just out of curiousity, what do the people who make it onto superplay dvd's usually get for their hard work? cash? pcb? just recognition?

I just spit my popcorn out. Haha.

Pretty sure they get paid by the hour, or maybe by the month. The DOJ:BL DVD guy gets a piece of the action. They reported paying him 500,000 yen in sales commissions.

Are they being hired in advance before release to make sure they have an "elite player" for the future DVD? Or is it just that there's someday a "player-scout" out there looking for the best and then proposes a contract?

both, i believe. the mushi and ketsui dvd sound like they were scouted. raiden fighters and ikaruga, they were requested :)

It's ok but it's nothing like DOJ BL or the Mushi Futari DVD.
However if you're really into DS than this DVD will be awesome for you.

I believe some players (K.K seems to be one of them) just record their best runs, and then it's easy to sell them on first request.
