Look Around You...just look around you.

Post by Pixel_Outlaw »

So recently the mini series science documentry "Look Around You" has come to the US. You silly Englishmen are funny. Loving each episode.

Birds, what are birds? We simply don't know.

The show airs on Adult Swim.

The full episodes are short but sweet.

I'm pretty sure that the Brits think that us Yanks speak silly too. Yep, from across the pond...so be it. Same thing with Canucks as well. ^_~

I recall of one instance of bagging groceries for a British customer. Her proper British English accent was so thick, I still couldn't understand what she was saying to me. I could see that she was getting quite pissed with me. Oh well, it ain't my fault if I couldn't understand what was being said. ^_~

Old for you, I think this is the first time it has been on US television.

Heh, glad to see this being picked up for an international audience. The first minute of this episode is probably the most painfully funny thing ever committed to film.

I'm so confused. Sven refers to this series as "old", yet it displays a sensibility calling forth the 1990's to my mind.

So it is less old than it seems.

Yet we aren't told whether the number of matchheads produced in the future will be measured in old or new billions.

The old billion was a much larger number than the new.

It was actually first broadcast late night in 2002! So yes, not especially old, but five years is still a long time for a show to cross an ocean.

As to that, I was unaware of the existence of the "Bottom" program until 2004.

Yes, Look Around You is awesome! Minzoku and I were amazed a week ago when I switched over to Adult Swim and we saw the Maths episode playing (still my favourite). There's a region 2 DVD containing all the eps.

The second series is worth tracking down too. It's a different format, more like that old science show "Tomorrow's World" but it's just as funny.

Octopuses are holy animals. Owls are also holy but not as holy as octopuses.

My sis showed me this show on Youtube, and it's hilarious stuff! British humor is awesome!

I loved how it poked fun at those educational films that I had to endure in high school, they really got the style and feel of those films down pat!

I found this one about music amusing (though can't help it while I'm drunk...)

I watched this for a while on the link above and i'm not sure its supposed to be funny. Its an educational program.

Maybe you find it funny because of the voices.

I find it funny because the information presented is false and absurd.
