Hello shmups site [Forum] :D need help!

I had old pc when i was 4years old something like 1994

i had game shmup game that was a little ship [vertical]
and shoot up the ships monsters !

was a free weapons that come in the space its circle wthat transfare in time to 3 colors red blue and green i think !

when the ship touch the weapon the ship make light and trasnfer to the color of the weapon that she got!

the game got perfect graphics

more clue . the first boss is big he got scary face he white with nice graphics he got thow hands like squares lol

someone please its old shmup

This sounds like a Darius game to me. "Scary face" means maybe one of those fishy bosses. That's the best I can make out of that extremely broken English.

Of course it sounds like something else, like Darius Gaiden, but I think the original version barely squeezed into 1994 and the home translation wasn't sold here until about 1996. Also, vertical - something that Darius is not.

The description sounds like the game has same powerup system as ChoRenSha68k. I'm pretty sure i've seen this system in some earlier game, but I can't remember which one.

So… It's an old PC (port of a) game with Toaplan (or Raiden) staple RGB weapon system. How much does that narrow it down?

I missed the part where he said it was Vertical.

lol sorry for the confsion of all of you!

the game was vertical ! the system that the game was intel 486

with the yellow something int he right up of the secreen when the pc turn on

hmmm verticali .. hmmm and the graphic u right like chorensha same good graphics but bosses better then ever from chorensha chorensha its game for beginners ! lol

so if someone can tell me if he know or look at the top where all the details are ! so please do me a favor i will pay money for this

I remember that vert shmup having 3 power-ups cycling through red, blue, and green in that order. This probably might be the one that he's talking about. I could be wrong, though.

The fact that most players here denounce any computer shmup save emulated arcade games doesn't aid him much. It may have been a bargain bin game that few have played.

You seem pretty sure for someone who hasn't played the game for 15 years...

anyways heres a screenshot of the first boss of Return of the mutant space bats of doom (that boss is also in the first one)..we dont see the whole hands there but they are big and squareish, also the ships shines the color of the powerups when you pick them up.

also, if it does start with "X" my first guess would be Xenon2, but the game really doesn't fit the description that well.

Gun*Nac came out in the USA back in 1990 courtesy of Ascii for the NES. I like the strong similarities of Gun*Nac and the classic PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16 shmup of Gunhed/Blazing Lazers. I scored a brand new copy of Gun*Nac at a local video rental place for a mere ten bucks...it had a sticker slapped on it saying that it was used -- turned out that it was brand new and factory sealed. ^_~
