New HRAP for 360... Seimitsu this time.

Very 9000TB-esque, isn't it?

All Seimitsu parts. No word on QDs or anything though. 2.6kg, 3m cable, blah blah blah arcade style controller. It seems to be the same stuff as before. I'm now torn between getting this and the Street Fighter IV TE stick, or perhaps even getting a standard SFIV stick and modding it. So many decisions!

Edit: Uhh, maybe I should have posted this in Hardware.

Wow, it looks pretty nice, I'm also torn between the SFIV sticks and getting a HRAP D:

Hopefully this one is HRAP build quality and not like those EX sticks.

Nice :D

But the choice for me is easier, as I am having easy access to the SFIV stick and have already deposited $50 on it.

I am understanding that the Seimitsu sticks are more tight? I think my biggest complain with the DOA4 stick is that is seem loose especially when playing RFJ

So... is this one also going to be priced at $130 even though the parts are slightly inferior/cheaper to the Sanwa stuff? I guess they're just offering it for anyone who has a preference of Seimitsu parts over Sanwa's.

Looks nice though.

seimitsu parts are neither cheaper or inferior(depending on what you are playing seimitsu parts are better)...this will most likely be priced around the same as the SA model HRAP was id guess

Seimitsu parts aren't really "inferior" to Sanwa, they're just different. And all HRAPs minus the HRAP2 SA have come with Hori buttons, not Sanwa buttons. The difference is that the Seimitsu sticks are tighter and have a shorter throw, as opposed to the Sanwa where they're looser and have a longer throw. It's personal preference.

Well, inferior was the wrong word... cheaper. I don't tout one as better than the other, but it's a consensus that the build of Sanwa stuff is generally a tad better. I've never used a Sanwa stick, so I'm not aware of the difference first hand.

That's the one ITT right? Also why can't Hori release their flippin sticks in the UK now, I hope the sales of the SFIV stick show that there is a market for these kind of things here.

Where are you getting the idea that Seimitsu parts cost the same? In every place that sells both (Akihabarashop, group orders, etc.), Seimitsu sticks and buttons cost less. And they're well known to be of slightly worse quality; just look at how much a Seimitsu stick grinds off its restrictor, leaving shavings. There's almost no reason to own Seimitsu buttons unless you want slightly more resistance or are more interested in colors instead of the utmost in performance.

But still, this is a great deal compared to the normal EX provided you can deal with the flat buttons (they still easily beat Hori buttons). I have an 8000TB and don't really like the button feel but if you don't mind, more power to you.

Nope, that's the older model with Sanwa stick and Hori buttons.

When it comes to sticks AND buttons, I choose Seimitsu over Sanwa every time. Way better feel especially for shooters or anything else that requires short precise movement. The buttons actually have a bit of resistance to them and snap back. Most Sanwa OBSF buttons feel super cheap and "hollow" to me.

i'd imagine the difference in pricing may be because sanwa is the stronger brand name. you're right about the shavings though :-/ i can live with though. seimitsu stick is great for fighters and shooters (especially if you play charge characters); sanwa is great for fighters but bad for shooters. seimitsu buttons are great for shooters, but not as good for fighters. sanwa buttons are great at both (although it's easy to accidently release a bomb or whatnot because they're so light to the touch).

When I modded my HRAP-3 I put a seimitsu in there and found it really hard to play with...so I bought a sanwa stick off my local arcade and modded it in there. Worked a lot better for me for whatever reason.

Pretty sexy stick...I'm kind of glad I won't need to mod one of those fugly fighting sticks or buy the fugly-but-less-so SFIV stick to get a decent 360 stick. HRAPS are so pretty and shiny, I cuddle with mine each night when I go to sleep. Yeah, so I plan on picking this up when the money fairy places a suitcase full of benjamins under my pillow tonight and I buy an xbox and a stack overpriced games tomorrow...I blame Bush...

I went ahead and ordered one even though I don't have a 360 yet. I assume I'll get Death Smiles though. the only thing I don't like about these is that the stick is a bit too close to the buttons. It's very liveable though.

Isn't the stick/button layout exactly the same as all the other HRAPs (Besides HRAP 1)?

The 9000TB is an amazing stick. I get the feeling it's because it's mounted from the top, which gives it a nice feeling. It's a shame that you can't easily mod it without soldering though. I actually saw a modded 9000TB awhile ago but the tutorial was in Taiwanese, so, forget that.

Lordstar: That HRAP and this HRAP are different. The HRAP you're looking at uses Hori buttons, and a fake JLF stick. It's also soldered to the PCB so, have fun trying to mod that. This HRAP uses Seimitsu buttons and a Seimitsu stick, but no one knows whether it's going to have official parts or if it's going to be soldered to the PCB.
subcons wrote:I've never used a Sanwa stick, so I'm not aware of the difference first hand.
It's like I said. Sanwa have a longer throw and Seimitsu have a shorter one. Sanwa are looser and Seimitsu are tighter. Sanwa buttons are quicker and easier to press, and are round. Seimitsu are flat, and you can do stuff like actually rest your fingers on them.
GaijinPunch wrote:I went ahead and ordered one
Where can people preorder it from? I'd wait and see if it uses official parts and if it's soldered to the PCB first; if so, the SFIV sticks would be more worthwhile in the end, for their modding capabilities.

pardon my curiousity, but why would one want to mod a stick that already has the best arcade parts in it?

That's what I was thinking.

Besides, this is for like... 1 game, maybe up to 3 if I feel like getting DOJBLX.

And I ordered mine directly from Hori.

So that when the stick or buttons wear down/break it's an easy task swapping them out.

How much does that take? I've had 2 9000TB's for the last 5 years. The only one that broke was the one I pounded out of frustration. Can't remember which game. Galuda 2 I think.
