Bought a 50 hz only game. Now what?

Post by PepsimanVsJoe »

So I jumped the gun on an ebay purchase(Maken Shao for PAL PS2) and only discovered after the fact that it's 50 hz only.

Are there any options available or am I just out of luck? Granted it's only $8(hell it cost more to ship the game than anything) but I rather enjoyed the DC version and would like to check out all of the changes made in this remake.

The PS2 I would play this on is modded if that helps any.

No luck zoree. If it wasn't intended to be 60hz, you have to keep it like that.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

some chips can actually force an ntsc signal.
try to get into your chip's menu.

Sure enough I tried it and it worked.

Course now the disc refuses to play properly.
Never fails. I can get the rest of my PS collection which consists of US/JP/PS1/as well as other PAL titles to play but Maken Shao alone gives me the finger.

Oh well. Thanks for the advice Jockel.

By all accounts it's not a patch on the DC original anyway, so you're probably not missing out on much.
