Okay, did a quick search and nobody mentioned this game around these parts. Ouch.
Why this game rocks:
-It is made by Sumo Digital (OutRun 2 guys among other things)
-It has plenty of Konami fanservice: Simon Belmont, Solid Snake playable
-It comes with Vangelis' Chariots of Fire
-You'll witness Pyramid Head doing swimming pool!
-The long awaited return of Sparkster!
If all of this doesn't convince you, something is seriously wrong with the world. Now it's clear that if you have a Castlevania or a Metal Gear at home, you are bound to buy this stuff.
Okay, fanservice aside, this games is actually FUN to play: there are 24 events, most are good fun, even if there are a couple which are incredibly frustrating. You'll compete in six different cups, with three different difficulty settings. If you love the button mashing of old, you can have it - if not you can use the "rub with stylus" alternate control method. The game rewards you here and there with costumes, extra characters, new game modes, and star points which you can even bet online against competitors; so it won't get old fast.
Once you've seen it all offline, you'll enter the online mode which is rock solid: finds rivals both global and local, any skill or tries matching your skill level. Keeps a record of your friends, and updates all the highscores. Track & Field internet ranking, does it get more oldschool than that?
You can even register at www.newtrackandfield.com , search for fellow athletes and create teams!
So, I knew you were saving your money for *insert name of Snes famous rom ported to DS to everyone's acclaim*, but instead of playing again and again the same rpgs, buy this thing and add my friend code to your roster:
2965 3426 7245
There, I had to say this - I just bought the game and I felt it deserves some extra spotlight, because it's ace.
New Int Track&Field is AWESOME! Go buy it and play w/me!

Yeah, saw this new fangled Track & Field at my local Gamestop. Gotta love the cool Super Deformed character artwork on the USA version NDS game of the same name. ^_~
If you say that this DS variant of T&F is the one to get...I just have to take your word on it. How much is it at USA retail btw? ^_~
PC Engine Fan X! ^_~

The artwork for the game was created by the talented guys at UDON. I don't know how much the cart fetches on the US market, but doing a quick ebay survey I suspect the game can be bought for a little more than ten dollars. I got mine for 10 € (a closing store stock clearance) and so far it's the best money I spent in 2009 for gaming.PC Engine Fan X! wrote:Gotta love the cool Super Deformed character artwork on the USA version NDS game of the same name. ^_~
