While I completely agree, I'll be that sucker who buys both copies.

If Faintear is playable, I'll buy it.

EDIT: On second thought, not unless I can get it for $70 or under. (just checked Play-Asia...) $90+ is a bit steep for a B-grade shooter, and the figure that comes with the Limited Edition is... not what I was expecting. In a bad way.

For the price of this stupid thing you could get the real figure (looks like this) instead.

More bang for your buck right there. Shit's fucking sexy. Pre-painted? I'd hit that.

Hi guys. I've just started playing the DC version of this again, and I'm finding it a lot harder than I remember it being.

Does anyone know a site that has gameplay movies of trigger heart, or a walkthru of some kind so I can see what I'm doing wrong? There used to be a site I used but I don't have the bookmark any more. I'd persevere but I think I'm trying to weave through an impossible barrage of shots where I didn't used to.

I was (am?) too.
THE was a lot of fun, and I would love to be able to play it on my PS2,
but at $85-89 for just the game just doesn't seem justifiable.

NCSX are now listing the LE for $150. Still no listing for the regular edition though.

$85.80

I can't imagine how many sales NCSX loses because of their completely ass-backwards multiple websites and frustrating search feature.

I fully agree on that. Their website(s) are a mess.

Ahhh... they just added that today then, cause it wasn't up last night.

Yeah, their multipage format is annoying, but at least they're reliable (on for me, relatively close by).

Speaking of Exelica's price, I think what's disturbing lately is that all import game stores are now charging more for games. For a few years now, we were able to get games at retail price or even slightly cheaper. Starting this past year, there's been a $5 to $10 markup on pretty much everything, which is more in line with import prices at the end of the 32-bit era. If it's a result of the economy, I sure don't like it. Even Amazon Japan's prices are generally quite a bit cheaper (but they don't ship games outside the country).

Maybe that's due to the Yen hitting new records? And don't forget that Trigger Hearts is totally overpriced.

SRP is 8190 JPY, which is around 92US$.

not to argue, but that's been listed for awhile.
I think this just illustrates the ineffectiveness of finding products on their multiple sites.

So why am I not seeing this anywhere? PS2 yes, I heard, but nobody's mentioned getting it or having it...

I want it, just as much as I want any PS2 shmup. So there.

I myself have given up on buying on NCSX because of this too.

Once I emailed them. I got a fast reply stating that they would forward my complaint to the admins.

No, their customer service is excellent. They just have a fucked-up website.

It's coming out 26th of March. Was some kind of test play at Sofmap in Akihabara today, and people were actually waiting in line to play.

Those chibi figures are quite nice, they had a real one on display, and it looked awesome. But I don't think it justifies the high price. :/ I guess most people who buy this will mostly do it for the figure.

Faintear appears after the stage 1 boss if you meet certain criteria during the stage itself. I forget what they are - don't lose any lives, meet a specific score, something else.

Everything has to do with score. You can technically die and fight her, but since your score is halfed when you die, it's not likely to happen.

Just use that anchor and get the big points, once you get used to it you'll have no problem fighting full bosses on each stage.

Exactly. I've ordered from them for over a decade. (Man that makes me feel old as hell...) Never had a single customer service problem - they've been great about fixing any issues I've ever had. But yes, their website setup sucks arse. They've been good enough to me for me to stick with them though.

---

As far as another Excelica release goes, I like the game, but not nearly enough to pay this much for another version of it. Maybe I missed this here somewhere, but is the PS2 version supposed to be better than the XBLA version? (There is an XBLA version right? Or am I just missing out on sleep too much?)

This version is supposed to have some extra stuff, most notably the ability to play as Faintear, the recurring boss. And yeah, there's an XBLA version. ;)
