Otomedius or Raiden Fighters for 360-J
Gonna pick up 360-J, i can only afford one game ATM. What do you suggest. I will get the other ones later like Ketsui and such but need something to hold me over.

They are very different type of shmups. If you like the Raiden series, RFA is a solid game, you won't go wrong with it.
Otomedius disappointed me a bit, I guess mostly because I was so hyped and looking forward to the game, but finally it wasn't quite living up to its expectations.
What I most disliked in Otomedius was the extremely tiny and barely visible shots of the playership. They should have done the bullets a little bigger and highlight them from the background more. Also background animations were not as great as I imagined them from the screens.
All in all it's not really a bad game and if you are into shmups and already invest into a JPN 360 console, I'd still recommend you to go and get it. If you have just one choice atm, maybe RFA is the safer investment.

Raiden Fighters has nothing to do with the classic Raiden Franchise. It plays completely different. Also it has a very addicting score system and tons of secrets.agustusx wrote:thats the path I took, never been a big raiden or parodious fan.professor ganson wrote:Shiki 3.

Just having an opinion here. Don't like the presentation of Shiki3, imo it looks worse and plays worse than Shiki2 did. I got it anyway (even for wii AND 360), but if I had to make a choice, I'd place it into last position for 360.professor ganson wrote:Unthinkable. Did you really just say this!? I suppose if someone is tired of the formula, fine, but this is an upgrade (graphically and difficulty-wise) on one of the best shooters ever made (Shiki 2).ex.machina wrote:I'd call Shiki3 the weakest of the 360 shmups.
