MUSHA on Wii (VC)

Post by durias »

My apologies if this is redundant but...

(I searched (though not long) to see if this has been mentioned already.)

I have never played this game but always wanted to. I would prefer to have the original cart though even it does cost more than the download.

I enjoy it, but I also generally don't mind Compile stuff. A lot of people here are pretty tough on them. IGN placed it pretty ridiculously high on a Top 10 shmups list they had. I got the cart for like 30 bucks I think, I don't think the game is worth anymore than that unless you're a collector or something.

After Compile's 8-bit era, the only game of theirs that really appealed to me was Zanac Neo. It's good to see them get some attention, though, and of course the cool options from Raizing's games owe a lot to Compile.

I'm grabbing this the first chance I get. Always wanted to play it.
Of course, that's just an opinion.

Ditto here.

The funny thing is, is that my friend brought over MUSHA so I could see how good it was, and Planet Joker so I could see how bad it was, and he left them at my apartment for quite some time, but I couldn't be bothered to hook up the Genesis or Saturn to play either =P Actually, my Saturn is permanantly hooked up, but I couldn't be bothered to see if PJ supported tate or not.

I'm curious if anybody here dislikes this game and why.

They would say something like:The levels are too long, Its way too easy, The scoring system is broken at the end, Levels are repetitive.

I don't mind those things though. I rather like the game.
I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.

People here dislike it because:

•its a console game
•it has no real score system
•its made by compile
•its NOT made by cave
•its a console exclusive game aka not a PCB

and everything that Dale said too.

Me, I LOVE IT and it probably my top 5 favorite games EVER.

Bashing things because they are popular always makes you look cool.
I didn't like MUSHA myself much, i just found it a bit boring.
But hey that's just my opinion, a lot of people love it.

It is a good game. Solid console offering for 800 points. Glad to see another shmup on Wii.
Some of the best shmups don't actually end in a vowel.
No, this game is not Space Invaders.

lol  what a load of shite.. people dislike it because its a fairly dull and uninspired game.

actually people dont dislike it as such, they just dont rave about it.

its one of those games where you pick it up and you think "hey this is pretty fun" and after 10 mins the novelty starts to wear off and another hour or two into it and youre getting ready to put it into mothbags, ive never heard of anyone playing this to any real extent like say battle garegga or dodonpachi..

I'm glad to see they finally brought this over, as it has been on the JP VC for a long while now.

No doubt that it's a fun game, and the tech is impressive for the era. The game simply lacks depth, therefore it feels like a chore to play it for more than an hour every couple of weeks/months. It's definitely worth the VC download to check it out and see what all the fuss is about. Just keep in mind that it is heavily outdated and there are superior games in every aspect.

But you are solidify the fact that people do not play and do not like the game because it is not like say battle garegga or dodonpachi

No one rave about it but many are quick like lightening bolt to shit on Compile and their games… They are "ROFL I get infinite score this game sux lulz" or "this game long BORING! ROFLCOPTOR I put a book on the fire button and go to bed. Compile shit LOL"

I just bought this for the VC and I like it so far. I like how the VC handles Genesis emulation.

no youre the one missing the point mate, the thing garegga and DDP offer above musha is replayability.
you can spend years perfecting your play in those games while in musha there simply isnt anything more to be discovered after a couple of hours of play.

there is no real challenge, you will have seen all the stages and beat them several times over, heard all the tunes and maxed the scorecounter out.
its a decent enough game and worth a couple of dollars for a fun playthru but dont fool yourself, this isnt the game that will draw you in for years to come, THATS why people dont rave about it all the time.

In fact the only thing i can imagine that will keep you playing musha for years on end is if youre a rabid compile fanboy with a dodonpachi complex...

I kinda liked Musha the first time I played it, but I generally struggle to stay interested in Compile games for the reasons previously listed.
