So enterprising players could replace it with the soundtrack to Jets 'n Guns, which also comes in .ogg format!

Cave-clone meets the best shmup soundtrack ever? All I need now is for someone to make a custom sprite set.

I highly enjoy Gradius and the spinoffs. I'm into titles from Cave, G.Rev and Touhou. I've just recently got into Thunderforce IV, V and VI and loving it. I'm actually into most STG.

Started out with Space invaders in arcade where I used to stand on a box and press the buttons when I was a toddler lol

Fav are vertical shump with my top one being Battle Garrega which I found by accident from Lee at VGI reccomending to us when I bought a load of satturn imports with a load of shumps quite a few years ago (as wanted one for Do and Don Pachi among others).

I do pretty much like all sorts though, big Gradius fan (I guess that stems back from days on speccy and nemesis) but I always prefer verticals as find horiz too much about learning the scenery/walls.

Ive bought loads for consoles/computers over the years right from Harmfull Park to Radient Silvergun and eventually Id like to go down a cab route with some Ibara proper arcade action (not a fan of the PS2 port) unless of course it gets ported to 360 ;)

Im not a huge manic fan although I adore DDPDJ on PS2. Just bought a JPN 360 end of December as Ive counted the years for the Raiden F series port and was upset when it got cancelled on xbox 1 many years ago. Been saving since March so picked up RIV and Gorgeous with it. Tipped me into getting it when Ketusi and DDPDJ got announced and counting days for the delay to be lifted.

Verts I go for one credit surival unless its a Treasure like Ikaruga and RS then its 3. Horiz for some reason I go for distance and limit to 3 credits.

I'm 30.
My absolute favorite is RayForce. I generally prefer games with fewer, faster bullets as opposed to millions of slow bullets, so I love Toaplan, and all the Raidens. Having said that, I love the Cave games simply because they're so well crafted.

28. I like most Psykio games, the first have of Cave's output, and most Taoplan shooters, along with some random SNES games I ended up playing when I owned that system as a fresh-faced tween.

Lately I find my tastes shifting from verts to horis...

Some of my favorite shmups include Radiant Silvergun (Saturn mode), ESP Ra. De. (even if I can't score for crap in it, I love the anime-like vibe it exudes), Giga Wing, Rayforce, Raystorm (despite the frustration it can cause...), R-Type Final (love the post-apocalyptic and artsy imagery. So sue me.), Darius Gaiden, Strikers 1945 II and Dodonpachi.

...And if anyone's still here, I'm 18.
Animal Collective and Big Black. Make of that what you will.

just about to turn 34.
first shooter was Space Invaders, and really got into shooters when i was much younger (Phoenix, Robotron, Moon Cresta, etc etc)

C64/Amiga era i was putting time in, but fell off a fair bit after that.

Bought (and since sold) a set of arcade machines and got back into shooters then (mainly Mars Matrix and Phoenix (again)), played cave games in the arcade/Ps2.

These days , working on my own shooter that's be on and off for an age so most of my time is going into that , in VERY VERY VERY early stages , trying to get the "double" achievements on R4, and waiting for the cave games to hit X360.

17, 18 this April.

I have no real preference for particular companies, though Cave usually takes the top position anyway. First got into STGs from Touhou (yes, haha) so I like bullet hell shooters, preferably with slow, dense patterns, much more than the typical STG.
